Wow! For the third and last time i'll repeat myself.

He'll be educated , learn a trade , join a gym , watch SKY TV

Prison is NOT hell.

Agreed prison is not hell, hell you will be eternally burned to a crisp over and over again. Nothing in this world can compare.

And UK prisons are a walk in the park, compared to other countries. And usually pedo's and such are segregated.

So the prison guards would have been investigated into why they were not doing their jobs correctly whilst guarding the prisoners?

And i don't believe the soft human right brigade would turn a blind eye to such goings on ..

Ever been?

Yep, ive had a few ex-mates locked up, visited many times :D. When they came out a common theme seemed to be prison is a educational place for criminals, they learned new **** to do.

Probably a lot of bravado mixed in there though. Saying that i know a few people who had it rough inside, but most say its a walk in the park.

Wrong! No prison in the uk has sky tv for a start, they can't just use the gym whenever, they will get one session a week, he won't do any work or education as he's likely to be category A and be segregated as other prisoners will be a risk to him, due to his offence profile. this guy will most probably be locked up for 23hrs a day in Belmarsh once convicted.

Trust me I know I'm a prison officer, prison will be hell for this guy, every hardass prisoner is gonna want the notiriorty of having a crack at hazell

How do the other 'hardass' prisoners know about Hazell? I have always wondered this, for example when Ian Huntley was a huge profile for the murders he done, the prisoners knew about him.

I guess they watch the news in the prisons?

Depending on which prison they're in, they either have access to a tv in a big hall with lots of others, or if the offence is more serious (sexual crimes for example) they have a tv in their room. It gets taken away (for set periods) if they break any rules, but it has all the free to air channels on it.

Have a friend in prison at the moment, who started his sentence when the F1 was still only on free to air channels, and he now can't watch all the races as they're on sky.

Yes.

I know someone who was locked up for a couple of years. Said it was like a long holiday. He was completely up to date with the times ie. latest music, films, PS3 and XBox360 titles, news, everything.

they get newspapers and freeview TV thats how they know, plus they would easily recognise him and if hes on general population there will be a cell card outside each cell on the wall with the prisoners name on it

Given the sheer number of such cases, i dont think every culprit was truly evil.
Even without questioning your logic that rapists aren't as evil as murderers, I'm fascinated that you seem to think it's a common occurrence, it's thankfully ridiculously rare.

Maybe not at your's but other prisons do i.e

"Prisoners are threatening legal action against the Government to get more subscription sports channels on their cell televisions"
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/8789233/Prisoners-demand-more-Sky-Sports.html#

And yes UK prisons are a walk in the park compared to the US state pens.
IF this guy is found guilty of the charges he should be shot with in 4 days of the verdict.

Bit of mob mentality going on here, he hasn't been found guilty yet but loads of people here are already hoping he gets put to death.

I personally do feel he's guilty but we shall see

No, he'll have boiling, sugary water thrown on him. He'll be raped. He'll be slashed with improvised weapons. Etc.

He'll be a marked man. He'll try and commit suicide numerous times, because prison life will be unbearable.

Look at Ian Huntley.
Indeed.

Said it before and I'll say it again. We are far too soft on criminals. We need a capital punishment deterrent in this country.

If it is proven by DNA or whatever means that Stuart Hazell is guilty then this fella deserves to die. What sane person would disagree with me?
I was waiting for the pro-death penatly brigade to show up.

The kind of justice system you wish for will only result in MORE DEAD GIRLS.

Get that into your head.

It's a choice, vengeance & more dead bodies.

Or a "soft" nordic style justice system with less dead bodies.

Personally, I'd rather forgo the pleasure of seeing the child rapists/peados/murders suffer if it means one less innocent child get's killed.

Stuart Hazell is a disease, a symptom of a sick society which erodes human empathy (Assuming he's guilty, it pretty much seems so) - he clearly will need to be locked up for the protection of others (most likely indefinitely) - but I'd rather focus on what made him the way he is (then combat it).

People get so twisted up thinking about revenge they lose sight on what really matters, which is preventing another innocent child from being murdered in the same way a couple of months down the line.

It's almost impossible to do such things to a child if you have a strong empathy, people able to do this are clearly lacking that element which softens our actions towards each other (especially children/vulnerable people).

This thread just shows how meaningless the expression "Innocent until proven guilty" is to the average person.

Even someone who believes that will still have an opinion.

We just happen to be on the internet where opinions can be as extreme as they want.
