He practically talked himself into a guilty mess.
The interviewer obviously knew what he was doing, but being a criminal psychologist, why no red flags or at least recommending he's put on watch?
At last, someone that agrees with me!

Not truly evil? Wut?
I get what you're saying but I disagree. I think that in most cases if you are evil enough to rape a child then you are evil enough to kill a child.
What? This is why he was being pushed into the press, standard police tactic.
I think you need to do just that.Grow up
They couldn't arrest him without any evidence. However they should have had a keen eye on him and not let him get away. What?
If this was a "tactic" then why is he not already in custody?
Exactly. They couldn't arrest him without any evidence. However they should have had a keen eye on him and not let him get away.

I think you need to do just that. The words "police" and "tactic" shouldn't be seen in the same sentence lol.
Because it hard to keep someone in custody until you know what to charge them with.

In the interview they say he'd been under house arrest for a week.
Obviously their initial searches weren't great! (no ****)
But I presume with no firm evidence there's limits or pressures on the time they can have him under house arrest.
He said it was basically like being under house arrest with all the media outside making accusations.
I don't think he was actually under house arrest because there is various footage of him walking around in that crap t-shirt.
As he was basically saying the press had it in for him making accusations is probably why the police didn't push it too much without hard evidence against him. That doesn't take away from the fact that they all should have been under suspicion from the start.
As soon as you heard the words ALONE and BOYFRIEND it was pretty obvious he should have been watched like a hawk until he was proven innocent.
Grandmother's boyfriend - check
Looks like a crackhead - check
Last person to see her - check
No CCTV of her going to Croydon - check
Hazell only getting flustered and emotional when questioned about being involved - check
He shouldn't have been left alone to do a quick one, in fact how the **** has been able to leave the house in the first place with most of the daily rags outside?

I think it's a case of she's alone in the house with him, Grandmothers at work, he tries it on probably ****ed or on some some of drugs and she resists, he goes too far and realises he's either got to kill her or be outed as a paedo in the local community.

Exactly. The police do use the interview and plea tactic. It;s common knowledge.
If a family member of mine disappeared and the police wanted me to the appeal/interview I know know straight away I was their prime suspect.
It's much easier for somebody to slip up on camera to an interview than being at the police station with is brief advising him
It's like the police get a couple of free interrogations with their suspect before they arrest him. They still need evidence even if they do suspect the person.
sounds like they should have arrested him and kept him for as long as it took to find her body, I bet hes long gone or trying to leave the country by now!
