Time for a change I think

BMW 740i, e38. 4.4L V8, 35mpg, will tick over cruising on motorways (infact thermostat is designed to allow the engine to run hotter when cruising to make it more efficient). 6-7 seconds 0-60, pre-01 = £200 tax/year. As for comfort, its a 7 series. The boot is cavernous, the 4.4L M62 is very reliable. And you can get a fantastic example of one for your budget. I'm saving for one for about 2 years' time when my points come off and I'm a couple years older.

Did you just recommend a 7 series? Seriously?

The e38, out of the original Transporter, and Fun with Dick and Jane. What's wrong with them?

Its got nothing to do with the OP's request, its a 4.4L V8, it will cost a small fortune to run, if it goes wrong you'll need the OP's budget over again to fix it, it has the physical foot print of a 3 bedroomed bungalow and the carbon footprint of an F1 racing team

The guy is worried about tax and you recommended a 7 Series. A car which costs a fortune to run and that's not including the tax, insurance and fuel.

Do you know how much servicing costs on a 7 Series and how much a set of tyres cost? And then there's the pads and discs etc. It's enough to make a normal man cry.

For a guy with such a large IQ and a publically available wang, you should know better ;)

errrr guys, I have bought the car now, had it a coupel of days in fact so stop the bickering :D

Just trying to establish if anyone has any experiance of a fully loaded 5 star AA Waranty, is it worth £150 for the extra year or is it not worth the paper its written on???

Dealer says I have until Sunday if I want to extend it.

Well put Mike. This thread was started in good faith looking for advice and, again, it's been spoiled by the usual few.

Ahh well at least it gives you the chance to come wading in again. At least you actually read the thread this time though. :D

LOL.

I think what you actually need is a 700bhp Evo. You won't get one in budget, so you should buy an Evo 9 on HP, and then take out a second mortgage to the sum of 20K to fund the modifications.
