Time to get me McJob

Well just done stage 1, the 'group interview'.

Went well - Acted outgoing and confident. Piece of **** if i do say so myself.

First thing they did was check your ID. One guy got turned away for having an out of date visa. You can therefor guess the type of people there.

Found out pay is £4.60 p/h which is quite a cut from my last job. but for a few months I'm not gonna be picky. Better than i expected anyhow.

Just got to sit and wait now...

Isn't it supposed to be £5.52 p/h the minimum wage?

I did 18 months when I was young at a place called Casey Jones on Lime Street Station , Liverpool.

Not exactly a maccy's but closest to it. Was quite intimidating at first seeing all the suits and totty come for their food & drink and look at you like your a spotty, greasy ass wipe with no life. You get used to it after a while and get on with it. The one thing that kept me going was the fact that you get paid and have to spend very little on food shopping as you can eat what you want at work.

Meant more money to pay bills, rent and of course BEER!!!!:D

Good luck getting the job as your now up against Polish, Chinese, Indians, Africans, Japanese and of course a few English.

Thanks to Tesco's opening a massive brand spanking new store down the road I've managed to get work there!

DOTCOM Picker. Basically going around collecting Internet orders.

33 hours a week.
4 weekdays of 6am-2pm
1 Saturday or Sunday of a short early shift

Absolutely dream work hours for me. Well chuffed! Pay is £6.39p/h which is miles better than anything else I've been looking at.

Start on Friday! Can't wait.

Well chuffed!

</thread> :)

Typically got offered a job at Curry's after the Tesco's interview. But pay was carp and hours was 20. But I really needed a job at that point, NEARLY took it. But felt confident that I had done well in Tescos interview so turned it down (thats a hard decision after 6 weeks of unemployment!) and the gamble payed off! Tripple the pay! woo :)

Well done.
It is good to be working, although I still have to claim some benefits I love working and slowly doing away with benefits.

Congrats dude! \:D/

Hope it all goes great for you, warehouse/picking work is the best work around imo. Not so boring that you're pushing pens all day, but you do some written work. Inside and outside, bit of physical work too, 6 till 2 aswell... :D

Haha I'm getting excited for you :(

I did that for nearly 2 years between 6th Form and Uni! It's very easy but requires lots of walking around, get some comfy shoes. We had a good crew of people which helped including one fitty.

If the system has not changed then you'll be given you're "Pick Rate" which is basically how many things you've picked per minute which can be fun to race against if you're feeling proactive (they like people to be around the 2 items/min mark but it gets easy when you know the layout of the store etc) My best was around 5 items a minute over half an hour, a record that I'm not sure can be beaten!

Good luck and well done.

I used to do that, it's not a bad job really if the people you work with are alright, it's not hard at all but can be a bit boring.

Congratulations allec, I admire the effort you put in.

If it's not too personal can I enquire what the wage is? No need to answer.
