Time to journey down water cooling...

The blue tube is 7/16 = 11.1mm
come on people, keep up :p

Come on, read the thread :p I'm talking about the fitting now, the 7/16" tube thing is history :)

Edit Just to reiterate for CK61938 I am talking about the hole on the *fitting*, not the *tube*.

Man why is it never simple with water cooling stuff? lol...right here is what I have decided on:

1/2" OD tubing (thats 3/8"ID on the sites since they dont state the OD all the time)

and that is that :D

lol...no...sorry it is 1/2" exactly...no bigger no smaller...

Aha, so it *will* at least slide up and down 1/2" OD tube, which is what you want, although it will be snug.

edit: See my clarification above, I am talking about the diameter of the hole on the *fitting*. Now I'm thinking you are still refering the the tube ID. I wish I could just show you.

Snug is good...snug can be very good...I like the idea of a snug fit...just wish I had a woman like that :D

Oops sorry bubo :D
and yes it should be a snug fit.
I have koolance compression fitting on my quickconnectors and snug is good.

Edit: not sure I'd agree with the woman analogy - but lose is bad in both cases

A word of advice, get the best stuff you can afford. Water cooling is a hobby with-in itself and you'll soon be wanting more performance. So the more you spend now the less you'll have to spend in the future :)

good luck with this, but as JonJ678 said

Barbs are pointy things you push the tube over, so the inner diameter needs to match.
Compression fittings bite down on the outside of the tube, so the outer diameter has to match the fitting.

this made the whole 'what size tube do i need' question go away!

watercooling is becoming far less terrifying for me now :D

I know about the tube/compression fittings size now...I am keeping the compressions and I have found where to get the correct size tubing :D

Now this is odd.

Yesterday I bought this

But what came in the post today was this

I am guessing OcUK ran out of the first one even though it said 1 in stock when purchased it and then said Out Of Stock after said purchase...

Not that I am complaining but just wanted to state it lol :D

Ok people. Update time.

Today is pay day and that means one thing: WATER COOLING PARTS!!! :D

Ok so here is my final list:

CPU block: EK Supreme i7 Clear Top (LGA775 & LGA1366) CPU Water Block
Pump/Res: XSPC Dual 750 Bay Reservoir & Pump - Clear (bought previously)
Radiator: XSPC RS240 Radiator - Black
Fittings: TFC Compression Fitting G1/4" Thread 3/8" ID/1/2" OD - High Flow (bought previously)
Tubing: 3/8" ID - 1/2" OD Hose - Clear (3m)
Coolant: 1L Feser One Fluid - UV Blue
Accessories: Sharkoon 12" UV CCFL 4in1 Kit and TFC XS-1043 LED Module with 2 Roundbeam LEDs - BLUE

So apart from the pump/res and fittings all of that comes to just over £100. So I have purchased them and they all arrive tomorrow. :D

Well today is the day people. I am now about to dismantle my gaming machine and I am waiting on the rest of the water cooling parts to arrive today.

Here is a look at my machine right now:

As you can see some serious amount of cable management needed lol.

Now I am going to remove all the parts and prepare for the water cool stuff to go in. Wish me luck :D

I was looking at your cable management and do you know you can get a cable extender for your 8pin power so you could run it behind mobo if it isnt already long enough?
Great thread CK,i have learned from it so i may look into a WC setup now for myself.Looking forward to seeing pics of the new build.

Good luck with the build.

that's my main gripe the 8 PIN power connector...do OcUK even do such things? cos I do need one...I dont think one came with the PSU when I ordered it but I will check.

And thanks :D much appreciated to know someone is watching :D
