What are the albums from yester year that have stood the test of time for you? Those that still sound fresh and innovative, not dated, years after they were released.

I'll start with:

Rage Against The Machine - 'Rage Against The Machine'

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness is the first that springs to mind. 13 years old!

Isn't this just another 'your fave albums' thread though?..just reworded a little? :p

daft punk - homework

coming up 10 years old and still the best dance music album of all time imo , so ahead of its time .

N.W.A - straight out of compton

classic , ill never get tired of it , rap/hiphop at its finest (till i read the next post down , illmatic ! )

In no particular order:

NaS - Illmatic
Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral
Stevie Wonder - Songs In The Key Of Life
Bob Marley - Exodus
Marvin Gaye - What's Going On

There are more but I cant think right now :p

Yeah the rage album for me and:

Paw - Dragline
Kerbdog - On the Turn
Tool - Undertow
Warrior Soul - Last Decade Dead Century
INXS - Kick
Leftfield - Leftism
Pantera - almost all except after southern trendkill
QOTSA - TOSAQ
REM - Green, even though the first song says it all

millions more... which is great as it helped me to totally blank out the whole new metal thing that was, once, then, at some point.

ol dirty *******-brooklyn zoo
wu tang-enter the 36 chambers
nirvana -in nevermind
roni size - new forms
The doors-Best off.

Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms

Pixies - Doolittle (ok yes, my fave album, but if it were released today could teach the likes of The Fray a thing or two, even after 18 years)
