Timeless Albums

For me, Appetite for Destruction, GnR.

But here's a harder question, what albums release after 2000 do you think would be considered timeless?

In all honesty, I couldnt name a single one. Most new bands are too fashion/image conscious and lack any real musical depth, and old bands releasing new albums are past their prime (10,000 days for example I loved, but could never call it timeless).

Your thoughts?

Rise Against - Revolutions Per Minute was the first thing that came to mind when I first saw this thread.

The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead
The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses
The Boo Radleys - Everything's Alright Forever
Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 85-92

Thought I make it into a little quiz. Named the album, u name the artist. Google will obviously reveal, but try and do it first.
These albums I still listen to.

Nevermind -
August and Everthing After -
Jazz -
The Unforgettable Fire -
The Living Years -

you must be joking - surely it would be difficult for even the most fadish of albums to become very dated in less than 4 years!

I'd say there probably will be lots, though it's too soon to say for some, there are definately some which definately are

Johnny Cash - American IV
Damien Rice - O
Sigur Ros - Takk
Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Head
Groove Armada - Lovebox
Muse - Origin of Symmetry

all spring immediately to mind, though I am sure at least as many people will disagree as agree with me. Though only time will tell obviously

First two are Nirvana and Counting Crows, but I dont know the rest. Nevermind definitely fits the bill, but as much as i love the CC, I don't think August could be called a timeless classic.

Not really old but

Slim Shady LP - Eminem
Marshal Mathers LP - Eminem
NERD - NERD
Limp Bizkit - Chocolate Starfish & the Hotdog Flavoured Water
QOTSA - QOTSA
Slipknot - IOWA
The Prodigy - Fat of the Land

All my fav albums are fairly recent

P.S Im not even that big a fan of rap lol

Jet and the Killers you've got to be joking lol...grow up

Given that you're only 20 yourself, it might be worth you saving the 'grow up' comments for a time when the subject at hand isn't as subjective as musical preferences.

Sublime - 'Sublime' is only 11 years old, but I still listen to it regularly and it still sounds fresh.

I agree with Rage Against The Machine - 'Rage Against The Machine' with they're funky bass and wicked solos but then again they're my favourite band. :D

Wu-Tang Clan - 'Enter The Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers' has gritty raw production and lyrics that cannot be imitated today.

The Clash - 'London Calling' sounds dated, but I'll throw them an honourable mention.

Got it in one mate, this is the first one that came to mind and imo is truely timeless. It could've been released last week and in no way is a reflection of rock music in 1992.

It's a work of art as far as I'm concerned and is my favourite album of all time.

Kerbdog - On the Turn
Two very fine choices, I genuinely thought I was the only Kerbdog fan in the world, never met anyone else who's even heard of them.

Pixies - Debaser (ok yes, my fave album, but if it were released today could teach the likes of The Fray a thing or two, even after 18 years)

I've never heard of a Pixies album by that name. I went to see them when they toured promoting Doolittle c.1989 (contains that track).
