Today I got a new pair of swimming shorts from TK Maxx.

They are advertised as having an RRP of £49 reduced to £16.99. Online I can see they are £32.99 - https://www.surfdome.com/quiksilver...7_swimming_shorts_-_fruit_bat_mandarin-204723

They look identical except for the small logo which on mine is black with a grey logo in the middle instead of white

Do TK Maxx sell fake goods and how can they put RRP on items which are incorrect? Is there no trading standard laws which should close them down if so?

That site in no way means that the rrp isn't 49 rrp (recommended retail price).

Hardly anyone sells stuff at rrp. Which is why RRP should be ignored and find put what the actual value is, before buying.

The rrp is 41.99 by checking lots of other shops, however haven't found one shop that sells them at rrp.

I'd be quite careful about claiming that a store sells fake goods, particularly if I was wrong, knew nothing about retail (including RRP usage), and Trading Standards laws were a mystery to me.

I'm not claiming a store sells fake goods, I am asking because the front logo is slightly different and the tags inside look nothing like the ones I see online. On mine there is a paper tag that says Quiksilver and make in Indonesia. It also shows they are from January 2014 so maybe just an old model

PapaLazaru - they look light blue to me

In order:

No.

It's not incorrect.

No, see first point.

It won't be fake (obviously). I thought TK Maxx sell last season stock, or sometimes current season with a slight defect...

This ^^^

TK Maxx prices are not the best at all... Normally you can find the item online for cheaper, they are normally cheaper in the sales and at outlets too.

But when they reduce an item, like with yours.. It's super cheap.

Being a common 'mean' size means that I rarely get a bargain at TK Maxx. :(

TK Max sell great stuff but it seems to me like some stores are better than others. its plonked out like a flea market, but much decent brand stuff to be had which lasts longer. sell a huge range of tools, clothes, phone cases (best place to buy phone cases and accessories) I love it :D. My first place to visit when I got into town, I hope it stays.

lol RRP :D

I was under the impression that TKMAXX was basically slow moving stock from the USA market, a bit like catalogue discount shops.

Hence why their jeans are always sized weirdly.

You can get some great bargains there with various things, and they may well have cost £100 in $USD at some point, so if you find something you like for £20 then good times.

lol wut's with all the G dubwya pics?

I shop at TK Maxx when I visit the the states and I often get plain white and black tee's there for good prices.

I get Kalvin Clein - scratch that, Calvin Clein, scratch that Calvin Klein (jeese, I had to google it in the end) tees for cheap, can you tell I don't normally buy name brands?

They seem fair quality for the price. Would never pay whatever the rrp sticker was on them, but usually very good value 'as is' regardless as to what RRP they stick on them and they wear okay.
