Well I had not noticed it tbh......

On the "+1" subject, whats the view on this?

I use it as I assume its intended, i.e. somebody posts something that I agree with and could not add to or have put better myself.

Good or Bad then ?

None of these things have ever really bothered me to be honest. I have a back button and an ignore list, and have the common sense and intelligence to only post relevant things (at least I hope so anyway) ;)

I say it is pretty obvious, usually, who is doing it to spam and get postcounts, and who is doing it because they are just having a lazy moment and don't want to post usefully for a change.

I say ban all spammers, and leave the others alone, then the whole of the forums and especially GD will improve dramatically.

Personally I think it is a bit of a waste of a post* as it doesn't really add anything to the topic and I wouldn't post if I didn't think I could either add more information or give a different viewpoint. However if someone is absolutely spot on with their comments there may be nothing possible to add so I suppose it is slightly better than the fad of just quoting a la
At first I thought it was a story but then I realised it was a terrible joke
or whatever it is. I guess in a roundabout way I'm saying I don't like it but there are a lot worse things that could be posted and at least it is difficult to mess up the spelling or grammar of "+1".

*obviously they are in such short supply we should conserve them. :o

I've only ever used it in the Software/hardware sections where it can be useful.
Somebody asks a question - 'What anti-virus software shall I use?' and a +1 is used which gives the poster a really good idea how many people use the same.
As far as I know I've never used it anywhere else and I just think it actually means adding 1 to your post count.

You find stuff like "tldr" responses on the cesspool that is the WoW official forums. If someone posts a well reasoned argument/discussion that goes beyond two sentences such that the ADDS rofl lolz 12 year old would-be e-thugs crowd lose track, they just post something like this. It can destroy a decent thread if similarly minded people jump on the bandwagon. Stating you're too dense to read something a few paragraphs long seems to be thought of as cool by a few misguided people.

The more moderation there is on this sort of rubbish the better. I'm sure it can be done without damaging the comedy unique style of GD...

I hope you are being ironic here rather than just not reading a whole 5 posts down to where it was already corrected by Dingleberry88 in post 12. If you are well done, if not a perfect example of the "too long, didn't read" brigade.

bit late with the correction ;) i was corrected about 2mins after typing that lol

tl;dr

;)

I find the "kill it" type of response to be blatant spamming that should be banned if tl;dr posts are gonna be outlawed. "Kill it" posts serve no purpose as they generally don't add anything to any thread it's posted in.

Plus it's incredibly unfunny. It might have been funny to start with, but like a small kid that doesn't know when to shut up, it's gone way beyond being even slightly humourous.
