The game is fine..it's the community that spoil it.

And the community we have in WoW is a direct result of it being a very easy game to get into,a very easy game to get to level 60 in and a very easy game to PvP in.

As you may have guessed I like the game but don't like the kiddies that seem to populate all servers.

I've noticed this is true with a lot of games but it isn't an unsurmountable problem. There are nice people playing WoW, the Guild I've played with for the last year or so is full of nice people. Games like EVE will seem like they have a good community to people who like EVE, mainly because only a certain type of player likes EVE.

A game like WoW that has so many players will always have a much higher chance to be lumbered with some whiney kids but you just need to spend a bit of effort socialising to find the people you can get on with.

Also, the conclusion that if you play WoW you have no social life, what the...? You integrate with hundreds of other people, albeit with an avatar and not face to face, you need teamwork and coordination when you're raiding, I used to play with at least 5 other people on a Teamspeak server, I havent laughed so much! Yes I go out and get ratted as well, but its diversity, and being too cool for school as you guys seem to be, isn't the only thing I do all day.

Basically what I'm trying to say is

IF YOU HATE WOW IT MEANS YOU HAVE A SMALL WINKLE!!

Sooo... spending almost half a year to devise tactics on each boss and trash mob area in a new instance, and then perfecting your performance on those boss encounters, to one day finally hope to complete it, isn't hard work?

Grinding hour upon hour for days, to get materials to make potions, resist gear, and other consumables needed for the hardest instances, isn't working for something?

Whatever you say....

If you ever played WoW, you almost certainly never played it at end-game in a raiding guild.

sombody with brains!! :o

totally aggree with this. the majority are the people that get to the stage of having their first mount.. .and then feel that there is nothing else to aim for. either that, or they are the 60's that found it hard to fight the addiction!

im nto saying WoW is the 'zoof omfg best game in zee world ever!' but its certainly better than any other/the majority MMO's

Sam

They could also be lvl 60's who never made it into a good raiding guild to enjoy the best part of the game. What a sob story, you guys should sell that to a true stories weekly.

I found myself tiring of the game after getting my mount as there was nothing that seemed interesting to me, especially 40-man raids/dungeons. I do like the battlegrounds though and I'll probably re-subscribe when the new expansion comes out to see what the content is like. I'm also interested in the dungeons for smaller groups that are supposed to be in it. One of my main criticisms was the lack of new content for lower to mid-level players to make things more interesting as we grind up to 60.

Then again I was one of those players that liked to gather a huge group of varied levelled players and go attack Astranaar/other Alliance town for a laugh.

It'd be nice for Pulse to reply...but oh wait, he's still in school :D
he must be the only kid in school who doesn't play WOW.
maybe thats why he's so bitter?

I must admit that I'm pretty addicted to WoW too, and yes it costs money to play on a monthly basis...

BUT - I balance it with my online poker addiction which easily pays for my Warcraft fees!

Already posted in this thread but want to post again, just want to say a few things.

I have never played WoW, but i can see it being a good time filler for when nothings happening on the friends/family front.

The only problem i see with the game and the addiction is when people turn down real life social get togethers and the reason is WoW.

That's the sadness part.

What if they're turning down that real life social get together to go and do an instance with 4 RL friends who are all on skype? What if they find the virtual get together with real friends more fun?

The main reason I refuse to play WoW is because of what I have seen it do to about 75% of the WoW players I know, which is kind of screw up their real life social lives totally. My old Housemate to begin with would come out and do social stuff with us all the time, but by after he started doing organised Raids and instances, he would just do those instead of actually coming out and being social. He also managed to fail his year at uni, and I'm sure WoW had a good play in that happening.

Sure, people have choices to do this or not, I personally don't fancy playing it ever, I played enough CS in my last 5 years anyway, and I do realise the online social stuff that can come across it, I've met and am friends with many people online from meets and LANs, but I've not done it for a long time.

haha, i do agree that ther eis not enough mid-low level instances... it always seems to be the same.. DM/SFK/BFD/Mara/Ulda/RFK.............gnomeregan *cringe*

and unfortunatly i have seen friends ditch some events for this game.. i used to be addicted but there is somthing abit tapped if your ditching everything for it... theres addiction and theres obsession... not saying ti shouldnt be done, just saying its not advised ;)

and for the people that say the people that play WoW have no social life... BS ... i play WoW.. i go out nearly every night of the week.. unless i feel particularly lazy or tired/hungover!

WoW gamers have lives to.

and the guy who was on about the small winky's for the haters, LOOOOOL :D comical!

Unfortunately...if they like it what's the problem? Just because someone isn't out getting bladdered every friday doesn't make them weird.

I played WoW for a few months - it was good while I played it. Slowly I got bored though. I got to level 32 is just over 2 months which is apparently not very good but then I was never a hard-core WoW player.

And tbh, some people who have posted here calling WoW geeks - we are on a computer forum chatting about how good this new hardware is - how many pixels per second something can do etc. Imo - thats geeky to most people in itself (but personally I don't mind they'll get over it).

Ahh rose tinted glasses. Your 1st MMO always will be the best.

Think i have to agree with this. DAOC was my first MMO, nothing ive tried since has grabbed me like that did.

Got a Priest to 60 in WoW, did all the silly instances for hours and hours for no reward. Really boring stuff.

Simply cant be bothered to play them anymore :)

I pity the people who go out 7 nights a week and **** their money up a wall in the form of vomit.

The ignorance of some people is just startling.
