** TODAY ONLY: DELL 27" G-SYNC ONLY £449 !! **

Tempting, but still unsure about TN.

As pointed out previously, TN has come along way since first introduced in monitors and used for gaming. Worst you have to do it return it if you don't like it...it's today only ;)

I can't comment too much for TN as I've been using an IPS for the last few years and it was a massive jump over my previous TN...it should be noted though that my previous TN was ancient.

Very tempting, but I really do prefer IPS panels as I don't just use my computer for gaming.

Unfortunately no word on if Dell are going to release an IPS based version of this monitor, so it looks like Acer might be the best bet there with their Predator XB271HU, but I reckon a Dell version would be much more aggressively priced. (still definitely not cheap though)

I rarely agree with you but G-Sync was a game changer for me also, sp on this I do. I haven't used a Freesync monitor but who knows what the future holds, albeit I am hoping that I will be buying a CV3 with G/Free working in it at some point :)

:eek:Twice in a matter of days now:p:cool:

If I never used FreeSync before G-Sync, I honestly doubt I'd be using G-Sync right now, once experienced, you just can't game content with out it.:)

1080p to 1440p is a massive leap and with G-Sync no less.. I'll never go back to 1080p 60hz ever!

Quite a few of us would say the same thing about TN -> IPS.

Especially at 27" and greater sizes. Is anybody going to honestly say that they can't see colour shifting on a TN screen that size? Even if you sit dead center, you'll see the difference in colour between the top and bottom of the screen.

TN is OK on a small laptop screen. But on a proper sized screen - any that I've seen anyhow - it's gash.

Honestly, would rather go without G-sync to keep IPS.

Unfortunately if you like fast paced FPS gaming nothing else has the motion clarity (yet) of the higher end gaming TNs and TBH I don't really notice the shift while gaming though its more apparent in desktop use.

Having both a decent IPS and gaming TN on my desk I can't honestly say the IPS is such a difference I simply possibly couldn't go back but I'm a lot happier with the option of both.

Be quick guys, the closest competitor with stock is £505, this is an amazing deal, once it goes off special we shall set our normal price at £499 making us still the cheapest UK company with stock of this superb G-SYNC monitor. :)

If you want G-Sync and IPS money must not be a object for you. Majority of gamers would just be happy with anything G-Sync atm Since it's really expensive. IPS would be great, but most wont be able to afford both IPS and G-Sync. I'm quite happy with original Asus Swift g-sync TN panel.
It doesn't *have* to be this way. I dont necessarily need some ultra premium display with incredible low persistence and all. 1440p monitors have come down in price. 120/144hz monitors have come down in price. And hopefully variable framerate monitors will not always be this large premium in terms of cost.

I dont think it will be terribly long before we can get a monitor that does all these things at a semi-affordable price. IPS isn't exactly some super expensive technology. It's only the very high quality ones that really escalate costs. But not all of us need a super high quality panel.

You made me spend my money ;)

I can notice the colour shift if I move my head up and down excessively whilst on the desktop but not in game at all. 8 bit TN@1440 with g-sync is excellent, I don't miss 60hz IPS at all for gaming, even less VA.

You were just doing an impression of a chicken really ;)

Hi there

These are absolutely flying out, 20 sold today so far, still got a few hundred left so don't miss out. :)

Got the monitor elsewhere but it was a toss up between Asus and Dell, however the Asus was an older monitor design and had more negatives on ocuk. So went for the Dell S2716DG NVIDIA G SYNC instead

most games such as COD i get 110 fps with everything on max so the 980 copes fine with this monitor.

Interesting. I have a 980 but my chip is inferior to yours, it's a 4690k @ 4.6. The rest of our specs are similar.

Do you reckon with my set up it's worth doing? I have to MOT the motor in January and have saved up a few quid for that. If it passes or doesn't cost much, thinking of getting one of these monitors on January payday.

Just wasn't sure if my set up can drive that resolution.
