Today's mass shooting in the US

I didn't ask a question.

Lol fair. Well you've countered your own statement.

"if they were that easy to make we would see more terror attacks".

They are easy, it's just hard to get the materials to make the more dangerous ones without being found out. Not impossible though.

The stuff I'm talking about in my previous post you can get from most chemists or hardware stores.

I think I saw before there is over what 350 million weapons in the USA. Nearly one for everyone. Some people have arsenals!
The only thing that will stop the insanity of gun crime in the US is probably a civil war.
The country I see as a military police state. Comparable with the countries they complain about the most.
Guns make money and fear sells.
You have a look at US advertising on tv regards home security etc. Terrifying!!! Would make you go straight down to walmart and buy an AR 15 a bazooka and a
Phased Plasma rifle in the 40 watt range
Hey! Just what you see pal!!

Civil war won't fix it. The only thing that will fix it would be a complete cultural overhaul. Guns are ingrained in their history and culture. You're never really going to change that regardless of what controls and laws that are put in place.

The problem is now in the USA, the horse has already bolted. if tomorrow they were to ban guns, only the law abiding citizens would be the ones that would hand them in, so you would still have guns in the hands of people that shouldn’t have them.

And when you realise only about 30% of Americans personally own a gun you realise what a vocal minority they are. And of that total number of guns, about a third of them are owned by 3% of the population.

And public opinion for years now has been in favour of tighter gun controls it's just the lobbyists and money that stop it happening

Sorry, couldn't resist that.

"Easy" here is just a matter of opinion. You say they are easy. I say they're not easy.

My original post said that, in the absence of guns, "unless they have access to explosives, their ability to spree kill is reduced hugely."

So, I'll point you at that, rather than us both wasting time on defining "easy".

Manchin still refuses to abolish the filibuster, even though it would ease the passage of firearm legislation he supports.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) on Tuesday lamented the lack of Senate support for tougher gun laws following a mass shooting in Texas hours earlier but rejected the notion of eliminating the filibuster for the purpose of passing such a bill.

Manchin noted that he has three grandchildren similar in age to the victims at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, where at least 14 kids and one teacher were shot and killed.

“It’s just absolutely horrific,” Manchin said. “You all know where I stand; I’ll do anything I can.”

Pressed on whether he would consider scrapping the filibuster to tighten the nation’s gun laws, he warned that it would lead to chaos in the Senate.

“The filibuster is the only thing that prevents us from total insanity. Total insanity,” he said.

The response is consistent coming from the West Virginia centrist, who along with Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) has resisted pressure from fellow Democrats to get rid of the filibuster in order to pass various pieces of President Biden’s legislative agenda.

Easy might be somewhat relative but many people have around their household the materials to create a crude but deadly improvised explosive device and the instructions aren't hard to find albeit I'm not going to go into details for obvious reasons. Some of the older generations may even have acquired the knowledge at school either in lessons or from certain "cook books".

Everything Fox News suggested as solutions to the problem. Notice the lack of anything to do with gun control.

That list shouldn't be funny but its like something out of Brasseye. I particularly liked "God".

Its just astounding that they would come up with a 72 point plan about how to try and stop these sort of things other than actually limiting access to guns.
