Today's mass shooting in the US

I feel as though large swathes of the US population, who are exposed to endless amounts of negative news and political soundbites, whilst simultaneously living in a culture which worships money above everything else is terribly damaging. Essentially, it has created a society so physically and mentally unhealthy, that these shootings are just one of many ways in which it 'comes out' so to speak.

That was pretty much the premise in Michael Moores Bowling for Columbine iirc

You're trying to make out like this guy is on the side of people who criticise Islam, or maybe people who voted Trump because they want illegal immigration stopped when his ideology is that of white supremacy which is completely different

This guy was 100% a Trump supporter and voter. Trump’s rhetoric painting Hispanics as rapists, murderers and vermin feeds these sick ***** ideology. It’s tried and tested, call “the enemy” such names so they appear sub human and so killing, imprisoning, deporting them becomes palatable and the norm. Only a couple of weeks ago The Daily Stormer said Trumps tweets attacking The Squad was exactly the white nationalism they elected him for. Has Trump or the GOP called out the white nationalism/supremacist ideology that inspires this shooter yet? No. Will he? Maybe if enough **** gets thrown at him but it will be through gritted teeth. These are his people, these are the people chanting ”send her back”.

The US is a weird broken country.

These problems run so deeply through the fabric of American, society I think even gun control wouldn't solve all of the problems, although I think common sense legislation would go a long way and probably prevent some incidents.

There are 350 million people in America, the vast majority of which are perfectly decent law abiding sane nice people. You're seemingly judging Americans based on big story news events we see reported in the media which is worrying

Give over its the most evil place on the earth, apart from Ren and Stimpy what has the place got going for it. It's ran by a madman so mad evil things happen.

Crime in Mexico is a major issue, this isn't a contentious point or one up for debate, have a read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_in_Mexico. There's a lot of illegal immigration from Mexico at the Southern border, some of the people coming across will be the type of people who commit crimes in Mexico because they are coming across illegally and are totally unvetted. Is it unfair to point this out? I don't think that justifies murdering a group of innocent people in El Paso. Perhaps if you lived in a border town in a Southern American state you might feel some what differently.

Have you even been there?

It's being judge by the vast amount of mass killings. Which are preventable.

No i think people who think that any random muslim should have to apologise for the acts of a few extremists, need to themselves apologise or simply stop with their ****** argument. A case of reducing the hypocrisy.

Where did someone post that?

You seem to be arguing against some made up position here. I don't doubt that someone somewhere did that, but if you're referring to something on the forums then it is more helpful for your to quote what you're referring to instead of just inventing a position to attack.

...that's the point. Those practicing Islam peacefully would argue the same thing. ie that the ideology followed by extremist terrorists is completely different to that which they follow.

They still get tarred with the same brush though.

Oh come on. :p

This is a horrendously disingenuous post and you know it. You know full well what he means.

This isn't the appropriate place to debate Islam, I won't be dragged into that debate here

What do you mean? I'm aware that he's criticising some position. I'm not sure if he's talking about something posted on here or just ranting in general about some position he's heard elsewhere.

Are you really comparing people who practice Islam to white supremacists? The regular white supremacists get tarred with the same brush as the extremists who carry out attacks?
