Personally, I prefer to take off and nuke them from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Should use scissors rather than the clippers, less likely to get an ingrown nail or leave those daft bits a the side that hurt like a mother when they eventually get pulled off!
Had them for almost 10 years and never missed a beat.
I like the idea of using knipex super snips those things are amazing.

Being diabetic I have to be very careful and I've had some really good ones for about 3 years, finally got fed up of them being upstairs or downstairs so another pair arrived today.
