Tokyo Olympics 2020

Sport climbing would be more fun to watch if they was forced to drink 2 bottles of wine before hand.

I've climbed once after a very heavy and late session. Being 10m off the deck, above sketchy gear on sandstone while the ground was spinning was terrifying! Never again!

If I were going to get on anything before the games, it would have been Duplantis winning easily. Mind you, the odds would have been crap. :p

Lol, yeah. :D But for sure, he's a dead cert. He's got gold now and just went for a world record attempt at 6.19m. Just clipped it but might get it on second or third attempt.

Great climb from Schubert.

Looks like Ondra may sneak through. Megos may lose out

edit:

Actually, if that injury was a bicep tear, Megos may take the last quali sport if Mawem pulls out.

Well, can't complain too much at the combined scoring. Ondra managed to quali 4th after terrible speed round...

I can't see any way Bassa Mawem competes again, looks like his bicep tendon popped,

if you have not seen the 400 meters mens hurdles final, 2 of the fastest times ever recoreded were made, plus the 4th faster ever all in the same race.

There are plenty of other Olympic sports where a dead heat means sharing the medal. If two athletes recorded identical times in the 100m they wouldn’t make them go back and run again. It’s no different to what happened in the high jump, their best performances were identical and the jump off would have been like flipping a coin.

Did they both try and fail to jump a higher height bar or something?
