Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege Revealed

Sorry for such a noob question but can someone tell me exactly how this game works in terms of co-op multiplayer?

I'm after a game that I can play with one of my mates against the AI and/or through a campaign - can you do this on Siege or is it all online deathmatch/team deathmatch??
 
I just got this recently, Ive only played it for 30 mins or so. I played the Beta a long time ago and I enjoyed it.

So basically...

I need some pals!

If anyone is looking for a player, a noob player. Count me in.
 
You sure can :) It's called Terrorist hunt. So you and your mate play against the computers AI in scenarios like kill 22 terrorist, find and extract the hostage, find and defuse the bomb etc...

It's really good fun :) You can also setup a public terrorist hunt where you and your mate team up with random players.
 
Here's a quick question - I've just bought what I understand to be the full version of this game and I thought that as part of that I would get most, if not all of the "operators" available!

When I'm in the game it's telling me that I still need to "buy" them with my Renown points!?!?!

If I have bought the full version, what exactly am I getting over and above the "Starter Edition" that's available for less money??

Just had a quick look. You get two random operators, and with the extra 600 R6 credits you buy any operator you want.

That's weird - I couldn't see any operators unlocked at all and I don't remember getting any credits to spend!?!?! (When I started a terrorist hunt with a mate, all I could choose was the "new recruit"!!)

I'll be a bit cheesed off if I've been duped into just getting the starter version!

Are there any other differences in the two versions??

afaik the starter edition has a few changes from the full game revolving around unlocking characters.

If you have the starter edition you should get two free unlocks to choose from Rook, Sledge, Ash, Fuze, Mute, or Smoke. Since you didn't have any random ones to play in assuming you got the full edition.

You also get 600 R6 credits which can be used to buy 2 more operators (I think from the whole selection).

The unlock is much more grindy each operator costs 12,500 reknown for base operators and 25k for DLC ones rather than between 500-2000(iirc) for the full version.

Otherwise they're exactly the same.


You'll have to go to operators on the main menu to unlock new ones.

I got it from CDKeys (definitely no sign of it only being the starter version!) - although now I'm thinking that it is the full version - my confusion was down to there not being ANY operators unlocked but looking now I think they are only 500 credits to unlock!

I'm just surprised that you get more unlocked from the start on the starter version!

One other thing, is there any kind of map or schematic you can access in-game?
 
I just bought it from the bay £15 it's the full version I think as it had nothing unlocked and no credits or anything.


Quick question what the best way to kill the AI with the shields on terrorist hunt mode?
Reminds of payday 2 and them bloody shield guys messing up your day lol :(

You have to remember that the operators you play are all generally balanced and thought out with PvP in mind, where teamplay and co-ordination with other players is a key aspect of gameplay. Terrorist hunt is something that to me doesn't suit some operators especially if you're playing lone wolf. Best advice I can offer up if you're really into playing shield operators is to go for headshots, but you need to get the timing correct. If you lower your shield to aim down the sights you want to be sure that they either aren't looking your way/ can't see you, or are currently reloading having emptied a mag into your shield.
 
I could be wrong but I read Gothic's question as how do you kill the AI when they have the shield as opposed to him using a shield operator himself??

If that is the case just use grenades since they are easily restocked at those refill crates you find all over the map. Alternatively you can just wait for them to pop back out of cover and shoot them in the face.

Protip: Ash's breaching charge can be used to clear things like shields, bared wire, etc... not just for breaching walls, windows and doors.
 
I might just be absolutely rubbish at this game but doing the terrorist hunt as a lone wolf is really difficult!

I assume the difficulty is geared towards 3 or 4 players in a team??
 
I am finding it hard also but the best thing I found was using good headphones.
As can hear the AI before I see them most of the time.

And use the little car to scout a little bit each time to move parts of the map.

But the defending missions it's still hard if doing lone wolf.
 
Yeah, I did a "diffuse the bomb" mission and even if my aim was perfect (it isn't!) then I'd still get killed by the sheer volume of attackers during my frequent reloading!!!

I like the little car but most of the time someone wanders up to me and kills me while I'm looking through it - you'd have thought that getting shot would trigger exiting out of the remote viewpoint!

I used to like the "snake camera's" you could put under doors on one of the other Rainbow Six games!
 
I'll have a game with you sometime if you want mate. I ain't really played more than 40 mins but I enjoy it.
 
Anyone playing this tonight?

Got a night to myself so I might give it a proper go. Unfortunately I aint had chance to play it with anyone.
