Tomb Raider performance

I no since the patch, the missing effects are now there the lens flare etc, but it's made my 7970 lose about 10fps off the average in game and the benchmark. It's now forced me to not use 2x ssaa and had to switch to fxaa to get it back to we're it was.

Dissapointing as there ain't a lot of difference with the extra effects.

On another note the tress fx is better, looks wise and performance.

this is with a gb7950 wf3 @ stock 900/1250 and the patch :)

Hey guys..well i have a hd7750 just bought few days agoand core2duo e7500..i knoe shameful in front of all of your rigs hehe

But the thing is the benchmark with high setting gives me max 62 fps and min 52 fps..however during scenes of high environment in d background or foliage..my fps drops to about 20 :(
Is anyone else experiencing this or my card and rig is really crappy? Im playing at 1360x768 resolution..
As i am new to amd cards..any optimization tips and help with settings would be appreciated

Thnks

But when AMD say this it's 'ATI Cards suck, nvidia have superior drivers, buy a green card'.

Its a bit different tho - often in the past (something they've worked hard to change through 2012) AMD/ATI didn't even bother updating their drivers for a game on release and only started doing work once problems started showing up post release - so you got reactive patching. nVidia have typically been pro-active in getting drivers up and ready for release and this time is no exception the problem here being what they were given as being the release code and what the developer built as the release binary were different. A lot of this is related to TressFX as AMD kept it under their hat as long as they could - the version nVidia was given may not even have had it included and nVidia had no real time to work on opptimising support for it.

I'm quite impressed tho that the developer has kept customers in the loop with regard to the issues and attempts to fix it and putting a lot of effort into getting patches out as soon as possible - way too many developers of late have put their feet up post release and taken 10 days or more even to acknowledge release issues exist let alone making any attempt to fix them *cough*treyarch*cough*.

:D...Your saying that Even AMD said that ATI cards suck and NVidia have superior drivers....:D

Technically the ATI/AMD hardware itself has been pretty decent, some reluctance to move away from fixed function sub-systems aside i.e. the tessellation engine (and then bizarrely they tried to do AA on the shaders before the hardware was really ready for it). Its the software side that has let them down.

I can't even play for more than 5 mins now without the game completely locking my system up, what a disgrace this release is.

That sucks, it seems no one actually bothered to test it on the kepler based 600 series after they rebuilt the release version to include TressFX.

Plays fine on my GTX675m which is based on Fermi.

Chances are it one of your overclocks causing the lockup..

I very much doubt it's my cpu overclock and my gpu's are at stock. I should also mention that it plays fine with tess off but I didn't spend £900 on graphics cards to turn the settings down. Hopefully Nvidia or Eidos get some fixes out pronto.

Brilliant game and biggest surprise of the year so far.

Played from start to finish without a single crash and the game was running at a rock solid 60fps @1080p on custom normal - high settings on an i5 2500k and GTX 460.

How are you getting this game to work in 3d,I have 7870 xt and I select 3d in the options but it doesn't work,I have no problem with crysis 3.

I'll put this in here as well:
