Tone of posts - other forum

I echo Von's statements. Link needed.

Just don't let Malc on there, or all hell with break lose...

No pasty will remain unsmashed!

TBH most of the forums that I tend to frequent are pretty much the same as OcUK in terms of member/post style.

Motoring forums tend to 'slip' a bit, and it seems to be worse under certain circumstances, i.e. cheaper cars attract 'that' type of person, whereas expensive cars (BMW for instance) attract the opposite (until car prices fall, then every chav and it's dog has an E46 M3 replica).

It really, really winds me up when 90% of the members of a forum are unable to post without using text speak/coherent language and sound like they were bought up by parents named Facebook and Myspace.

The forum is a german shepherd forum which is very good for feeding particularly raw. Sorry for not linking but I'm on my phone I will update later on when I'm home.

Hey people,

Just wanted your opinion on this, I post on a few forums which are populated by what seems to be mainly middle aged house wifes and everything i post unless it looks like it is being addressed to the queen with various pleases, thank yous and other compliments to the original posters I get accused of being harsh or sharp, it's not something i've noticed on here or other forums of similar ages and I put it down to the type of people on these forums.

Is this a common thing or have I just found the internets hide out for bored middle aged housewifes?

KaHn

What is the forum? I have a spare 10 minutes tonight in which I can join and show them how to behave properly* ;)

* This may result in me getting banned ;)

I've noticed that any forums dominated by females tend to be very fake nice and full of hugs and kisses. I just assumed it's the same as any other situation with a group of females together - anything nasty is kept for private conversations and no-one would dare say what they think to the whole group ;).

Doubt it, their pasty was probably smashed to oblivian years ago, just crusts left now.:(

OcUK is a pretty nice forum to frequent, it's light hearted but doesn't usually get into swearing slagging matches. The lack of giant sigs, thousands of smilies and huge vulgar avatars also helps however.:p

To be honest if I have to watch my p's and q's all the time I normally avoid the place, same with friends/collegues etc. Doesn't matter how sensitive or insensitive you are, if people can't grasp basic social situations without getting offended and having to make a scene maybe they should question if it's actually them with the problem?

Lttle things called respect and manners. But obviously not ALL the time. :D
Folks who couldn't give a four x all the time are just utterly tiresome and boring to behold.
