Tone of posts - other forum

theonly other forum im a member of has 12'500 electronic music fans /producers/ ravers.

you would expect it to be chaos and uncivilised. it is infact my favourite place on the internet. pretty much moderates itself . theres only 1 mod and 1 admin and theres only been about 3 threads ever deleted on it and 1 or 2 banning's. its a great place

Generally I'd say OcUK was pretty polite, of course there are exceptions to that but most people are on the right side of showing people respect at least initially so it's normally pleasant. If the forums went too much further in terms of etiquette then it might become rather overwhelming - although occasionally if people were to stop and think about what they are saying for a few seconds it might be better, if you wouldn't say it to someone in person then why say it on a forum?

The corollary of the above is that of course there are people who tone down their attitude on this forum but I see that as less of a problem than people being unduly vitriolic.

I've been accused of being overly aggressive on other forums, which I find surprising because I consider myself to be pretty tame on here. Then again, I know no forum like this one, which seemingly has a high percentage of users whose own lives are so incredibly boring they get off at putting people down at any chance possible. Still, those individuals don't ruin things completely - OCUK is definitely the best forum I know of.

Then everyone gets upset.
