I must admit that when I was buying my Gucci belt on the weekend I did feel superior for paying in cash compared to the guy at the other till buying it on a credit card.

Wait till they take away cash. Then everyone will have to use debit cards and credit cards.

My partner and I have been using an Amex rewards gold card for the past 12 months however often thought we should have gone the Avios route as weve not seen anything remotely worthwhile to redeem our Amex points for, so I applied last week for the Barclaycard Avios Plus Card with 25k bonus sign up points (50k total). Have just transferred over our Amex points to our BA Exec Club account and should accrue points pretty quickly with this as we use the cards for our everyday spends.
