Too many F1 threads

F1 is the most popular motorsport in the world. It follows therefore that there will be more F1 threads than anything else. If you don't want to take part in any F1 discussions, don't click on the threads. There are plenty of other non-F1 threads.

I just think it would be much cleaner in here if you F1 boys had your own area, so when all the other, more exciting motorsports start, the threads don't get lost.

They're not getting lost anyway though and this pretty much the highest density the F1 threads will be at all season

If you split it up much more you just up with a load of half empty dead subforums that people don't bother looking in. Motorsports as a whole has week old topics on the first page as it is.

I knew this forum would end up being nothing more than gay F1 chat... and very little other motorsports involved.

OcUK in shock result shocker.

Well no one is stopping you posting about other stuff, it's not like F1 is swamping the front page and pushing other topics to the second page before they've even had a chance to be seen

In your opinion..

Of course it's my opinion. I wrote it. But thanks for reminding me.

What, so you have an empty motorsport sub-forum and then a rammed f1 sub-sub-forum? What's the point.

So that people who click on the motorsports forum can view motorsport threads, and the ones that want to talk about F1 can visit the F1 part, where all the gossip is in one place.

Many other forums have sub-forums for the most popular topics.

I'm obviously out numbered here so i didn't think it would go down well.

I know they can, but it would be easier to see other topics if the F1 threads wern't there.

As pointed out already, they're hardly getting shunted to page 2 before they get a chance to be seen, the front page has threads a week old on it, if people haven't bothered to post in a thread after it has been clearly visible for an entire week, perhaps the issue is in fact that no one really cares or has much to say about that subject rather than OMG TOO MUCH F1 FREDS?

Yeh lets have a rally subforum and then WRC and IRC subforums within that and then we can have subforums for each team and then a subforum for the drivers of said team.

Thats because they havn't started yet. The front page is probably 70% F1 and how long has the season been going now?

I knew i wouldn't get a decent response from anyone.

You have got perfectly decent responses, you just don't like them because they don't agree with you.

There is absolutely no logic in your argument beyond the fact you don't like F1, it's as simple as that.

Other motorsport is not being overwhelmed, it is perfectly visible, it is staying on the front page for days and days and that is with the F1 threads at their peak during 'launch' season. There is no issue beyond your own personal preferences.

Other forums use that system and it works. I thought it might work here.

That is my logic.

It's as simple as that.

But we don't need to do that here because the motorsport forum on its own is barely busy enough to merit its existance at all, nevermind another sub sub forum. You'd end up with a dead sub forum with threads from over a month ago on the front page, it's pointless and unnecessary. I'm not sure why you're finding this so hard to grasp.

Why is that necessary though? This is the question you struggle to answer with any logic, there is just no need to do that. Other motorsports are not getting drowned out and shunted off the front page because of F1.

Why create an extraneous half dead sub forum when this one accomodates the threads perfectly well?
