tooth decision.

i have a bad upper tooth near the back of my mouth.

basically had a filling as a kid, been replaced a few times, but somehow or other it got really bad a year ago.

so i had an emergency root done (well, the first stage that is) which left me with a kinda hollow shell of a tooth.

anyway, lately it's been hurting and now the gum is imflamed a bit.

the dentist i just signed up with told me my options are basically to have it pulled (with possibility of spending on a bridge etc) or spend on root canal.

right now the costs of these things are pretty high for me. i don't want to have the tooth pulled but it seems like it might just be the best options. she said it was pretty decayed, didn't look too clever.

at least the rest of my teeth are looking pretty good right now, and it's next to the back tooth.

so i guess i could do with some advice on a course of action. maybe if anyone's had a similar thing happen you could give your advice.

cheers!

I had a root canal and cap fitted yesterday nice Gold one.

Erm dunno what to say really does it show up really badly ? Do you care if you just have a gap??

just do it and sort out the cost over the next xxxx months.

I spent 3 weeks in complete agony umming and yarrrrr!ing over a smilar dilema.

Just get the sodding thing pulled out. But it sounds like they are making preparations for a cap type thing anyway now. (£550 at my dentist ...)

Never read this part of the FAQ? Or does the FAQ not apply to you?

Yeah that's true. I hate it when someone doesn't read the FAQ, or worse still is aware of it but disagrees in a certain area and goes ahead with the post anyway. But what really grinds my gears is when someone starts a crusade about a certain section of the FAQ they disagree with, say signature rules for example.

@OP Wish you the best mate but at the end of the day it's your decision.

Sod the dentist. Swig some whisky and let's do this.

He cant HANDLE the tooth.

:D

I'm tempted to go see the dentist because i've got one tooth out of place and the rest are fine

I don't really fancy having a brace or whatever at 18 though. I blaim my mother, she is petrified of the dentist and never really took me.

5'6" of String... One Door Handle... Tie String to Toof, Tie Other end of String to Door Handle (whilst Door is open)... Stand Back from Door (Approx 5'7" in its closed position)... Brace your self!... Get a Mate to Slam the Door HARD... :D

....break the tooth off, have to have surgery to remove the stump thats now embedded in his gum?

GREAT PLAN. REALLY GOOD WORK. *belms*
