appreciate the humour, kinda what i needed anyway after trying to contemplate this.

mr hitler you're right, i didn't read the FAQ thouroughly enough, else I'd probably have not posted this. I won't post again for medical advice (even though I'm really glad I did..). So, sorry about that to whoever it concerns.

I think I'll take your advice on people, and probably have the little monster ripped right outta there. OUcher!

Get it taken out. People wont notice when your talking cos its at the back of your mouth and there is less to go wrong once its out. It will never cause you any problems again.

I had the exact same thing. Lower jaw right at the back. I opted for a white filling/crown. Cost about £200 but is still holding strong now (touches wood). I opted for the repair because it didn't need the root canal.

I had another that did need a root canal. Paid about £300 for the canal and rebuild. It fell apart about a year later so I am not going to get it fixed unless it starts hurting.

Get it seen asap, because there is no pain like tooth pain!

Also watch how you chew food, thats the main reason you bust teeth!

Funnily enough that brings back some pretty bad nightmares, my dad instead of taking us to the dentist when we were young nippers...used to take a pair of pliers and pull out teeth out by himself....my dad aka DIY dentist

Nah he's not technically asking for medical advice. Because it's not a health issue, either way has merits and he really wants to know if it's worth the cost, therefore it's a financial thread.

I don't think it is a medical thread really, he has been to the proper person (Dentist) and they have given him the options, he is going to blame the dentist if it all goes **** up.

I would say get that mofo pulled out. It is gonna go bad again so you will save costs, the again having the back ones out is supposed to hurt. And they don't give you that crazy gass these days.

Me and my brother had to have a filling on our back teeth as they didn't have enamel (sp?) on them. Anyway he had is out in the end and I didn't. My teeth seem more squashed at the front now than his. This was when he was young, if you are over 21 it wont matter but can be another reason to get it out.

Hmm 3 people i know who have had molars pulled out.

1 got knocked right out general anasthetic
2 just a local (injection in the gum)

i doubt you will feel a thing, and its hard to scream with your mouth open anyway.

I was injected once in hospital to put me to sleep. "Ok count down from 10, and you'll be asleep"

I got down to negative 29
