I'd class them as one of the same. Albeit Batty the inferior footballer in every department Neither would shirk a challenge and if they got hit hard they would hit back hard regardless of the reputation of the player.
It's to do with mentality as well. Batty was more of a Scholes type player (but better).

I would be tempted to put Wes Brown on there, never seen him shirk a big tackle in my entire life. One of, if not the biggest tackler in the league, they are amazing.
For the overseas players, Id put Goikoetxea (The butcher of Bilbao) in that list and Edmundo (The Beast)
