Top Gear Is Back!!

The episode reminded me of an OcUK motors thread.

A comment of "Mondeo is actually a cool car" coupled with several appearances of a Fox.

Think the producers come on here? cryptic clues :p :D

Well remember I said me and Fox are going to do a car show?

We already have, for a couple of years now... :p

Could watch the world cup, but i hate football :p

Just like me. I'll be resorting to the repeats on sky or various dvds. Of course with so many people actually watching the world cup, the roads will get very quiet in the evenings. Perfect for going for a good drive! :)

Did anyone notice that in the second half of the football match, after it was heavy rain, the tarmac was wet, but then dry and it kept changing! Obviously fixed.

Yup. I noticed that.

How do they fund the "car football"? Do the manufactures give them the cars? Seems a wee bit expencive to me, or am i wrong?

Trial cars no doubt. Would only be used as workhorses around the car plant's anyway and never see the road

Re the P2. Prodrive can fit all that to an Impreza. Infact, that's basically what it is underneath that body.......

I have a copy of Scooby Magazine from last year when Prodrive were testing the ATD in an Impreza. Basically a prototype of the car that was on Top Gear tonight, without the fancy new bodyshell. Interesting read, and they absolutely loved it

Have you been using the Arctic Silver that OCUK sells to whiten your teeth? :D :D

I thought the p2 looked really unsettled on the track with the computer kicking in so often and deciding what to do, it was pitching all over the place figuring out what to do with the power. not really impressed.

only caught the first half of the show, will have to get the repeat tomorrow.

Thought it was a bit of a dull episode tonight - the only thing that interested me was the P2.

Even worse is we've got to wait 5 weeks for it's return, because the earth is about to stop spinning due to some football match. :(

Thats what I thought, the car looked as if it would be better in RWD format IMO. What is with the switch though, lets put in a switch that makes the car handle like a bag of carp. Why not get rid of the switch and make it run properly full time ??

once again i notice Topgear cheating with their reviews! did anyone else notice on the C6 camera thingy they had the big soft wallowy C6 with its fancy suspension then got a BMW 5 series but with the big 18 inch wheels and sports suspension? if they wanted a fair test they should have got a std 5 series the tools

Not only that, but how do we not know that the Beamer didn't get the rougher end of the track - I know the whole test was semi pointless (as Top Gear normally is - abeit, amusing & watchable), but it was hardly the most objective of tests.

If they were really out to prove a point, then they should have taken it to Millbrook. I'm not a BMW fanboy, although I have owned 2 of them, but I know which car I would choose, and to give you a bit of a clue, it wouldn't have been the Citreon.
