Top Gear Season 14

After watching last nights episode in glorious HD I only *wish* they had broadcasted the last series in HD too.

I'd have loved to have seen that final Aston Martin V12 Vantage montage at the end of the series in HD. It was without a doubt the finest sequence ever shown on Top Gear in my opinion, and I could watch it over and over again.

Wish they'd drop the Sandero stuff.

All in all a good episode though... funny how they've changed their minds about the Ferrari California ;)

ROADTRIP !!

Quick word of warning, if you look at the pictures and description on Google earth and/or Wikipedia, you'll see that it's hardly a "hidden" road at all, in fact it's very popular with bikers, cyclists and hikers so expect, when you're not the BBC and therefore unable to get the road to yourself, to get stuck behind a huge queue of shrinkwrapped lycra types unable to do more than 10mph up the hill, but still riding 5 abrest.

They also close the road for half a year due to snow, and turn it into a ski resort, you have to get there by cable car instead.

I did like the "Borat country" comments. Those parts of Borat were actually filmed in Romania.

That road looks amazing.

Darn I forgot it was in HD, pretty good show. But The silly challenges is where it's at fore pure entertainment. Bring on the blimp and electric cars..

surprisingly good in the end, certainly better than anything from last season.
it's still too silly, but they seem to have reduced the overly scripted unfunny drivel that ruined the previous season

Daily Fail in pointless dig shocker:

Don't they know there's a war on? MoD defends staff spending 140 days on Top Gear stunts

Military personnel have spent the equivalent of more than 140 days taking part in stunts on hit motoring show Top Gear.

Equipment worth billions of pounds has been used in major setpiece scenes for the show in the last five years.

Yes, technically they used billions of pounds worth of equipment as there was a short scene involving an aircraft carrier.

The two biggest events each involved the equivalent of more than 60 personnel.

In November 2008, Clarkson took part in a beach assault with the Royal Marines while driving a Ford Fiesta.

The event involved the equivalent of 63 days' worth of time from the Marines and equipment including Lynx helicopters and amphibious landing craft.

"The event involved the equivalent of 63 days' worth of time." In other words, 63 marines filmed for 1 day. Brilliant!

'The filming utilised scheduled training hours and resources which would have been consumed irrespective of the BBC filming or not, and were therefore used at no additional cost to MoD,' he said.

'Having these events appear on one of the most popular television programmes in the UK was an excellent opportunity to raise public awareness of the Armed Forces and enable greater understanding and support for our sailors, soldiers and aircrew.'

Job done. So why write the article?
