Top Gear Season 14

You actually turned off?

What else on TV was more worthy of your time? X Factor?

No, I have work to do as well, so did that instead.

My point is, I think the show format is now a bit tired, even though the cars are nice. It's good that they stopped blowing things up, but having a race in a variety of different supercars every week it a bit tiresome. Though I was one of the people who liked Top Gear before it changed completely into what it is now.

I can't be the only who thinks this can I?

After watching last nights episode in glorious HD I only *wish* they had broadcasted the last series in HD too.

I'd have loved to have seen that final Aston Martin V12 Vantage montage at the end of the series in HD. It was without a doubt the finest sequence ever shown on Top Gear in my opinion, and I could watch it over and over again.

Agreed, that sequence would have been jaw-dropping in HD :(

It seems so :p

turning it off was a bit excessive though, it's nice lighthearted entertainment, and even you - assuming you're a bit of a petrolhead, can't deny that those roads are awesome

I just turned it off because I couldn't be bothered to give it my attention, not that I was disgusted with it!

I am indeed a petrolhead, and the roads were great, but I've seen it all before, and I don't have a Ferrari! I'd just like to see something a bit more original, and a bit more variety.

Daily Fail

......

Job done. So why write the article?

All the newspapers hate the BBC to some degree, and the Daily Mail probably hates it more than most or all the others. Any excuse, any time, no matter how much they have to distort the evidence, and the DM will put the boot in.

Lol, I like how they completely ignored the fact that Clarkson is a very large supporter of HFH, so at least input is put back into the forces. Also if they were to put together the expense of filming for TG, it would probably amount to less than what goes into one military air show for example.

indeed

how many days are "wasted" when military equipment is repaired for example.

Oh thats right, they dont repair them and prefer their crews to fly in flying death traps.

Frankly theres bigger fish to fry here, than a handfull of off duty squaddies spending the afternoon with top gear.

I do, yes. I enjoy variety, like a variety of cars. I'd like to see something new, like a new concept introduced into the show. How about a new celebrity challenge, or a new segment on cars that I might actually buy, with an unbiased, yet interesting review? They might not be great ideas, but as I said, it's not my job to come up with the new ones, that's the writers. Just because I know I don't like something about a show doesn't mean I have all the answers!

Hmmm, you might be onto something. I'd certainly be really thrilled to tune to watch something exciting like an educated and unbiased look at the new range of popular diesel hatchbacks or perhaps a Supermini head to head.

Yea, that beats 25 minutes of fantastic supercars, stunning scenery and some messing around.

Well the Fiesta shopping centre/beach landing thing they did a few series ago was awesome. :p

Those all seem like terrible idea's. Celebs are 99% of the time completely boring and only on shows like this to plug something unrelated.

Reviews on anything normal is a complete waste of time and not worthy of airtime, i certainly do not want to see anything other than concepts and/or super/hyper cars, everything else i can simply borrow from a dealer if i want to see what its like.

I'm not interested in diesel hatchbacks, I already said I'm a petrolhead. I'd be looking into seeing info about the latest mid range BMs like the 3-series and 5-series, mondeos and alfas etc, as well as some nicer cars that I'd never own. I'd also like to know about the car, rather than watching them trying to drift it around the track to music and clarkson's ramblings.

Nobody would want to watch just a show about normal cars, just I don't want to watch a show completely devoid of them. They did used to drive them once.

You're just taking what I'm saying and exaggerating to try and rub me up the wrong way, doesn't work on me, and I know you'll deny it too.

It'd just be better to watch something that had awesome cars and scenery AND was vaguely intelligent and informative.

I honestly would prefer it if Top Gear had half an hour of proper car reviews, ala Drivers Republic reviews

then half an hour of entertainment such as the scripted crashing of a truck into a dacia sandero.

Its funny, but i yearn for some proper serious reviews like top gear used to do.

Anybody remember the Jaguar S Type R, Monaro, 300c review ?

Fast forward to about 20 minutes. They sit down and discuss which they actually like the most, as opposed to just scripted arsing about.

.

This is exactly what I'm talking about, I'm glad someone agrees.
