Top Gear Season 14

Yeah I am with the majority here. I absolutely love top gear. Always loved it since the new format. I think the last couple of series have started to get to the point where it's tough to find new inspiration and different ideas each week. Perhaps they need to take a step back and just simply try harder. They just need something new....something big...maybe a new addition to the three musketeers? ;)

I have to say, even though I'm not usually one to come on here and criticise TG, everything they are doing these days is pretty stale. Everything is so obviously staged, it's just not funny trying to make out you parked up next to that dam purely by chance, or the truck smashed the sandero, or whatever else you care to mention. Are they trying to make it so that it's so obvious it's funny, because it really doesn't work.

no this would be the same middle group it covered a few series ago (see my link above to the monaro vs 300c vs jaguar S type R on the beach video when they reviewed the then new 997 911 carrera) when everybody still raved about how good it was.

I'm not talking about taking it back to the days of chris geoffey and quentin wilson !

It's almost like everyone is ignoring you because your post (and link to S5) makes a mockery of the 'OMG WOT LIKE FIFTH GEAR LOL' argument.

Your clip is a great example of vintage TG with excellent entertainment value yet with some seriousness mixed in.

Now we just get the messing around and funnyness without even a hint of serious discussion and thought to provide balance.

Top Gear is beginning to insult my intelligence. Banter and messing around can make a great entertainment show but not when you can predict exactly what is going to happen long before it does.

There are no more "WHOAH!" moments in Top Gear.

as somebody said top gear is constantly evolving

Watch the first series of Top gear and you see James may talking about top tips from the car buying industry and being all geeky

Head to about series 5 and the reviews are still there, but the arsing about has crept in

Fast forward to today and the serious reviews have gone, and its arsing about couple with "lets look at some good looking cars and beautifull scenery"

The stelvio pass and the GT3 RS, Gallardo Superlegera and Aston N400 was hardly any different to last weeks episode. With the exception of the inclusion of the dacia sandero, a joke that has itself been running for several series.

Top Gear is constantly elvolving, but the current format has got a little stale. Time for it to evolve again.

glad somebody else noticed. Im not asking for 5th gear (which i did still watch incidentally, just fast forwarded the annoying bits lol), nor am i asking for Mike Brewers Wheeler Dealers.

Just to go back to what they did a couple of series ago. Not the very first series when they went reviewing the current crop of MPVs, but when they did a Ferrari California vs Lambo Vs DBS volante feature, and actually came up with a decision as to which is the best car. Rather than just taking them somewhere and having a laugh.

can't wait for tonights. building electric cars. I do love it when they build things and ZR1 goodness.

can we take bets as to how it will go ?

may will take a methodical and scientific approach and go back to science
clarkson will just want to use a hammer and brute force and have no patience
hammond will do something really oddball and humerous and not be like the other two.

Its a bit like the starwars prequels

good film, but could be better if you didnt know beforehand what was going to happen...
