Top Gear Season 14

12,000 worth of tax payers money for 3 minutes of "entertainement".

Good value? You happy with that?

divide 12000 by the amount of viewers...and that is how much each person paid individually.

Probably fractions of a penny

I hate this perception that EVERYTHING that is on ANY BBC program on ANY BBC channel is funded ENTIRELY by the TV Licence and that they therefore have some say over it...

Does that mean we have to ignore the fact that top gear is a profit maker for the BBC. :(

No just one I pay towards indirectly. Would be a nice station car as opposed to a 1.25 fez ;)

You don't pay towards it, TG is a profitable show. It is sold all around the world and generates millions for the BBC.

Plus do you honestly think that Twingo was purchased? Renault gave them it. A 30 second commercial in the middle of Corrie would:

a) Cost more
b) Sell less cars.

Tonights Top Gear was fantastic yet still here and on PH we get the usual crowd moaning about it - why do you watch it?

Well, not exactly. I think you need to educate yourself a little as to what the BBC's remit allows it to do with regard to cash generation. There's a big difference between the BBC as we know it and BBC Worldwide which is allowed to turn a profit as it's not funded by the UK taxpayer.

Well, whatever, it amazes me that people whinge so much about what is spent on TG and ignore the money spent on dross like Eastenders.
