Top Gear Season 14

TG have done car reviews a fair few times, I bet that **** gets boring too. In fact it's in the same bloody studio every week, what's that all about!

They've only done the Touring Car Driver smashy up thing a couple of times in about 5 seasons....

Serious question, why do you continue to watch it?

He needs something to whinge about on the internets.

How people can say bad things about Top Gear on a Motor forum I'll never know.

Yesterdays episode was hilarious, we need more trashing of "sponsored" cars!

Loved the Twingo feature was awesome! :D

Also laughed at the outrageous 4x4's, it would've been highly amusing if BMW had named it the MX5, is the X5 a proper M car? If so is it the first one to never be named as such?

I wished they reviewed more affordable cars though. It was nice seeing a car I could actually afford at some point for once. Maybe two per series? :p

I personally think the whole episode was so good because we didn't have to watch the same old, same old supercars. Airport vehicles, 4X4s and a 'hot hatch' F T W. :p

The airport races cracked me up. That bendy bus wagging it's tail drifting into the other vehicles. The predictable ending of the overly tall vehicles with poor center of gravity. It's all good. It's fun on a Sunday night after I've had to live with I'm a celebrity factor brother cr4p all weekend to be honest, so it gets my vote every time even if it has lost a little something. All the haters, just change channel and go and watch strictly fail at dancing or something.

According to the Local Newspaper the Belfast bit may have cost up to 200 Grand.

And things like..

“Harland & Wolff has just completed a complete offshore transformer platform for a windfarm and filming coincided with that, so they were in a position to help them out.”

Its rare people will be called out especially.

One industry insider pointed out that many of the services provided to the Top Gear team would have come for free. It’s also likely the army of Renault Twingos would have been supplied for free by the motor trade.

Oh fancy that!

Harland & Wolff would have put the car ontop of the crane for free for their name to be mentioned and viewed.

Renault would provide car for free. (probably plus all cost's for filming the review!)

Cant beleive people complain about the cost of Top Gear when the likes of Jonathon Ross gets paid £MILLIONS to chat ****.

Completely agree, Top Gear are one of the richest TV shows that dont have a phone line vote. They always have great ratings and do you not think if it was costing too much that BBC would have cancelled the show instead of increasing the budget pretty much every year? Top gear's budget is nothing compared to some of the 90minute "movies" that they crap out every so often. Krakatoa cost £4.5million for 90mins of airtime, yet warrants no complaints. If you dont like it, dont watch it.

Don't Top Gear get something like 300 million viewers every week? It seems a bit silly to complain about a few £100,000's

I think the stat's are correct, 'per episode' rather than 'per week' - once it's been shown in all the 10s of countries it's exported to and broadcast.

Maybe he means people accross Europe/America/Australia? I'm sure they have access to live feeds. (although I dont know the BBC licence fee legitness and how it would relate to income behind this)

They've had their budget cut - as long as the show comes in within budget I don't think people can really complain!
