Top Gear: Series 19

Yeah really terrible that.. Why do people continue to so miss the point of the gt86?

Normally Clarkson would be the first to bang on about power and speed, He didn't at all.

Fantastic car tbh.

Amy was great.

ok so the point of the car is that its able to go sidewards round corners.
where and what roads are you able to do that on.

people in other cars are going to want to race the gt and the gt will get trashed on the roads.

I am little bit biased I have just bought a pearl white GT86.

I am very pleased with it

It handles like a dream it may not super quick but it is fun to drive I have put some photos up on my thread

It's about having fun driving; not required - silly speeds.

So in one breath you slate the car for a lack of places to drive it enthusiastically and then go on to slate it for not being good enough to win races... what roads are these then where you can't drive enthusiastically but you can go racing?

You can do it anywhere you bloody want at sane slow speeds, yeah it's not legal but neither is racing other cars. You don't need out right speed to really enjoy a car and the way it handles.

Lol- you must be very young.

Oh and FYI- "racing" isn't beating another daily driver between traffic lights / speed bumps / speed cameras / mobile cameras / average speed cameras / police patrols / congested roads. What you are referring to is retarded boy's speeding and driving dangerously.

So slightly staged with the Mustang .... Why would anyone take the ferry and not the tunnel !!! ....... Done that drive couple times myself.... Soooooo boring the bit through the middle of France.

True 0-60 is meaningless, shame the GT86 will get blown away by every turbo diesel on the motorway.... Same was true of the my old Celica T-Sport.

Thought it was another good ep.

Hopefully more interesting stars the rest of the season like the past 2 eps! Usually I skip through that bit but this and past week it was nice.

Anywhere ?

Before the moral knights rant on, if I drive a fun car and drive in a deserted place or in the late hours, I drive it like I want it, which in cars where the back end slides out, means I do make the back end slide out...

And it's hardly that slow is it, 6.0 seconds to 60 ??

To the bloke who was mocking the 0-62 time of 7.7 seconds.

So what?

Sometimes going from A to B at warp speed actually takes some of the fun out of driving. The car I've got on order does 0-62 officially in 4.9s and that is actually a poor indicator or just how rapid in-gear performance is. Yet after the test drive I walked away thinking how I'm going to miss the years of driving lower performance cars which require real interaction and hard work to extract their full potential. If someone put a GT86 on my drive as well I would probably drive it just as much.

It's not the quickets the Scooby and GT BUT I think they actually look quite nice and distinctive tbh... not particularly quick BUT saying that... it's not all about speed although another 50bhp might just be enough to make it a real hoot. Never driven one so can't comment... just for interest to the guys who have one, what's the profile of the tyres then? How narrow are they?
