I was in the cinema yesterday and they played the trailer.
I actually thought how it already felt old with F18s being the stars
I'm pretty sure there's an f22 in the trailer at one point
but I suspect Tom cruise will be showing us he's such a cool pilot that he can out fly, out stealth, out dogfight it in his older airframe.Other than that it looks like a straight scenes for scene remake/sequal of fast edited air porn.

I have zero trust in critics and their reviews so will pass judgement when I watch it myself, I highly doubt its better than the original though, that would be a first in decades where a sequal has been better than the original.
The last one I can think of was Terminator 2: Judgement Day, and that came out 31 years ago!

The Dark Knight debatable also
Captain America: Winter Soldier, while it was good I would place it firmly on par with the original. Certainly no where near the scale of T2 vs T1 or Aliens vs Alien.
CA TWS is, imo, one of the best Marvel films full stop. The original isn't an awful film but it's far from the level of its sequel.Absolutely, but that's going back even further than T2
