Torchlight Action RPG by ex Blizzard North

Once you hit the 3 portals section (you'll know it when you come to it) the difficulty starts to ramp up on hard, I'm going through a ton of potions now trying to stay alive, I may have to switch to a Sword/Shield combo.

I played up till just after that point on normal, but I've now restarted on V hard and see how that goes

Only played for an hour on normal so far, and haven't had to bother with any potions. Was going to restart on hard tonight, but might keep going if the difficulty level is going to increase...

Tried the demo this morning, loved it, bought it :o

Im playing on hard, just got to the part with the 3 portals and went through one, and finally i actually have to use potions (for my pet too) and not just get through whole levels without needing any.

Glad its started to get a bit more challenging, cant wait for my first death.

Level 13 Mage using the level 10 lightning spell.

2 gems of the same type and quality = 1 gem of the same type next level up
3 rinds/amulets = 1 ring/amulet re-rolled based on the original items quality
3 potions = 1 potion of the next level up

That's all I've got so far! Would be good if we can get a list together

whoa, awesome. what armour is that?

my Vanquisher's currently got a 333DPS rifle with max fire-rate, 35 ice Damage and 13 poison damage per second, although it doesn't normally take more than 2 shots :D
i got a skill called Explosive shot - it's got ridiculously low Mana-usage and it does ridiculous damage and splash :p

Loving the game atm, best game ive bought this year, although ive only bought a couple of cheap steam games. Been playing the last few hours, dont know if its the settings ive got it at (normal) or just cause i found an imba pistol so soon but im just flying thru the game at my current stage. The pet seems to do a lot of damage and it doesnt take too much damage either.

I seemed to never have luck with any items that was purple or orange :( but I was just stacking strength on the warrior dude more reason to make another char I guess :)

also found something rather cool once you complete the story , you can either do this or keep playing in the new unlocked dungeon thats randomly generated + quests, loot etc

There is an npc in town near your shared stash that appears once you complete the main storyline. I am pretty sure there is a minimum level to retire, but its something like level 20 or 25, which you should easily be if you have just completed the main storyline. When you retire, the character appears as a ghost on your character select screen, and becomes unplayable. The requirements of the item you pass on are lowered, and the stats/defense/damage of are increased. While this initially doesnt seem like a huge benefit, if you pass down a very powerful item that has been enchanted a bunch.... it makes it stronger. Ultimately, repeatedly passing down gear is the way to create the most powerful items in the game. There is also a tiny perk for your descendant... if its the first descendant it starts off as fame level 2, second, fame level 3, third, fame level 4, etc.

Its a Gold I picked up called 'Gunslingers Breastplate', has a ton of nice stats on it :D

unh. lucky you - i picked up the gunslingers belt :P

actually, can you please email me at my trust address? there's something i'd like to ask you :)

So anyone got any enchantment tales?

I cam upon a nice enchantment alter in the wilds, stuck my brand new unique ring in it...only then did I find out that the alter could come out negative and take all the enchantments on it :( Now I have a very valuable gold ring that is entirely useless :p

I'm a little disappointed that the set and unique items aren't fixed like they are in Diablo. I was really proud to complete my first set (Gorgon's something) went to the shop and there were 3 of the gloves of the set with entirely different stats

This game is quite possibly the best value for money since, well, ever. It's like, start up game, play for a bit, then oh crap it's 3am?!
