I have to agree that this gen of consoles (inc the Wii) you really do need all three to not feel disapointed. Each one seems to offer something special and can't be ignored.
I can see how the wii offers different things but what does the PS3 offer that the 360 doesn't and vice versa.

If it is a case of buying a PS3 for a few exclusives then OUCH at the cost per game. If the PS3 is £400 and games are £50 and you get a PS3 for 5 exclusive titles then thats £650 for 5 games.......

its fully worth it if you are a gamer and you want the right games that suit you. i bet tonnes of people have bought consoles for a particular exclusive game.. eg gran turismo, halo etc.

i was a big gamer up until about 6 months ago when the novelity wore off......but having experienced the 360 and the previews of ps3 theres a lot of games i really want to play and probably get the gamer side of me out again!

Once a gamer, always a gamer... it's not like you can jusy kick the habbit. I have been thorugh several times when I havent been interested for several months but then if something catches your interest you will find yourself having cold swets and shivering until you get that fix, and you will keep telling yourself that you can handle it, you're not addicted! :(

The PS3 atm is offering a Blue-Ray player (HD films), a six axis controller and although small catalogue of games, rather different ones from what's on the 360 (F1, Motorstorm, RFoM).

Is it worth the cash? Not in my opinion but others will disagree.

I don't really have an issue at the hardware cost (£425?) as it's a one off purchase, what puts me off is having to shell out £40-50 per game.

For instance I could purchase FN3 on the 360 for probably half the cost, yet the game is near identical to the PS3 version. This wouldn't bother some, but for me personally it is what matters. I like to buy older games when they come down in price, or trade in games so to keep my costs down.

The cost of games just depends on whether you have to have the latest thing all the time - either because a game really is worth it (such as Gears of War) or to be part of the in-crowd.

For me, I maybe will pick up just one or two titles at £40 as I'm quite happy for the prices to down come 50% after a few months. Christmas was pretty good - I got my hands on things like Kameo, Tomb Raider Legend, Condemned for around £15 each.

F1 is one of the best sports out there......... also unlike most other sports theres virtually no secteranism, cheating and most of all no major buttheads who bring the sport into disripute
That's what makes it so boring!! :p ;)

driving and fps are my favourite games lol, there is no clear cut console for me!! grr

im thinking this is gonna be a case ofbite the bullet and get both, but thats gonna hurt the lil bank balance huge style!

i could use the PS3 for racing and the 360 for fps

Errr.... Mate have you ever played forza motorsport? Best racing simulation ever

Well according to every review of the game, and in my own experience someone who spent hundreds of hours on GT2 and 3 to never touch them again after playing Forza.
I think we can take that as opinion then.

frankly when it comes to games and deciding if one game is better than another there is no "fact" ever.

The only things i can say as fact is Forza had better graphics, physics and sound, and infinitely more customization options.

You must remember that even graphics are often a matter of opinion as well.

i dont mind the price of games, even the 360's games are priced 40 - 50 quid. i mean ive had a ps2 of years (yes the big fat one) and i only ever bought games that really grabed me, i dont buy games that ive never heard off.

What? Well you obviously don't look at games across the board, more of a "pick up the sony mag" kinda guy?

Games do not cost £50 just buy them online most are £38.

Look Racing/Sports and ShootingAction Xbox, RPG and Adventure Playstation.

For me the 360 has a better line up over the next 18 months as well. I'll only be buying a PS3 for White Knight Story and MGS4 at the moment, unless MGS is announced for 360 then i'll be hard pushed.

Dude you obviously have your mind made up. Why are you asking the question?

Edit: Just make sure you know both platforms before you make your decision thats all im saying.

I can tell you whats coming out thats AAA hot status for both platforms and Wii. I'm just saying make an educated decision as opposed to one led by familiarity and brand loyalty
