Total Lunar Eclipse - Saturday 3rd March

Just trying to find out now, thats a US site I linked to. Going to check UK sites etc.

Yeah you are closer, this UK site says from around 23:00 to 00:00 or earlier.

Um is the sun up at 23:00? There's nothing for the moon to come infront of. Am I being thick?

Just because you cant see it doesnt mean that the moon cant go in front of it

This is a lunar eclipse, not a solar eclipse.

yes lunar eclipse = earth in between the sun and the moon. solar eclipse = moon in between the earth and the sun.

Does this mean therefore - that the night sky is going to be really lit up?

edit - is that right? I'm really confused? Doesn't a lunar eclipse happen every month....awww damnit... :confused:

LOL. a lunar eclipse is simply where the earth blocks the light from the sun hitting the moon. if the moon get's no light from the sun, it cant reflect it towards earth. No light = no moon = it will be strangely dark at that time.
