Total War: Pharaoh

I had been deliberating for some time about buying this game, for many reasons. However, at just creeping in under a tenner, and with the recent email I got detailing the up and coming goodies, I caved.
With everything going on around this title at least my expectations are somewhat low.......think marginal :D

Still £9.99 on CDKeys, which is tempting. This could well follow No Man's Sky and Cyberpunk in that the price will rise as the game improves.
Thanks just bought for a tenner. Wasn't going to touch this after the poor reviews and CA management behind it. I'm a huge total war fan and loved the earlier stuff.
Not gonna grumble at the cost of this if I don't like it.

Patch and update tomorrow......

pleased that I set my expectations kinda low.
Then again paying £10 isn't the same as the 40 dollars noted in the above review.

Oh, it can now be bought for £8.79..!

Yup, I have ever so fond memories. I didn't think much of the Shogun one, but from the first MTW I was kinda hooked into the series. Well, up to a point.
I very much liked the TV show, Time Commanders, IIRC that was based on an early RTW engine.

I was waiting for this latest update to try this one out.....maybe I'll manage two hours :)

I've been playing Fall of the Samurai lately, which has been fun. But I can't gather up anything like the enthusiasm I had at the time when Empire / Napoleon / Shogun 2 came out.

Warhammer with more unique factions and play styles and mods than you can imagine going stale ? Compared to medieval and Rome ???
True but the factions wasn't very exciting in 3. The game has been a bit too arcadey. Medieval and Rome was very diverse and the mods were genuinely more complex and interesting.

It does tempt me a bit more. Think I'll wait and see how that's received and maybe then go for a cheap deal when one comes along.

Hadn't bothered with this installment at all, but now might be the time to hop in!

Tempted to say 'too little, too late' with this one but it is good to see the developers trying to address some of the criticism levelled against this installment.

Tbh, I would rather had CA invest those resources into updating the engine as they've been using the same one now for 15 years and it's been broken for the last 10 with every new release being held together with patches and emergency fixes to fix buggy AI.
