Tottenham will get 3rd BOTTOM next season

i think spurs will finish above arsenal this season. It always hard when a club buys a lot of new players but if they can gel together they might nick 4th place. Obviously other teams have spent a lot of money as well. Cant wait for the new season to kick off!

Why are people assuming Arsenal will be the one to lose their spot in the highly unlikely event that Spurs do finish top 4?

1st Man U 87
2nd Chelsea 85
3rd Arsenal 83
4th Liverpool 76

11th Spurs 46

Err lol, i really think Spurs fans are deluded if they think they'll improve that much.

It will be several months before they are all used to playing with each other - that many changes will never work from the off, maybe by Christmas if Spurs are lucky

Thats not even considering if ALL the players end up being of EPL quality

Bale was a great purchase and I think this season (baring any injury) he can show what he is about. Real pity he didnt come to Man Utd but its good to see him getting regular 1st team games (as he did last season before his ....ankle? got damaged)

cuz we dont seem to be able to defend, when will wenger realise we need a CB. We couldnt stop crouch scoring last season or the season before. We dont seem to be able to defend any long balls. e.g Drogba last season.

Dont get me wrong i think we have some amazing talent coming through e.g wiltshire, vela, lansbury + gibbs. i cant understand why we have got diaby, bischoff, walcott, fabregas, ramsay, denilson, eboue(played cm against stuggart) but at CB we got Song,Djourou,Gallas,Toure,Senderos and maybe 3 of them are good enough.

Wenger didnt know what his strongest back four near the end of last season. Sagna got injured so he played toure at right back, why not just drop eboue at right back keep the central pairing and give walcott a game from the start!

Gallas and Toure are one of the better CB pairings in the prem. I have no doubt they are good enough, Song is the only stand in i've been remotely confident in recently though.

i agree that they work well together but i just think that wenger has gone with pace in defence rather than a bit of height. saying that we nearly won the league, if we'd beat blackburn (lehmann's fault) and livepool away we would be champions! Wishful thinking though!

Boring? Just trying to show people what happened last year. No one is saying that anyone is guaranteed a spot, people are just saying that to expect Spurs to improve such a drastic amount is being just a tad optimistic.

it's a bit late for the April fools jokes ain't it?

you finish last season on 46pts, add 2 players in dos santos and modric who are a gamble in the EPL.....talent doesn't always measure up in this league.....and david bentley who at his best is a poor mans beckham.

take away robbie keane who played phenomenal last season and you're going to suddenly creep up to ~80pts.

all is left for me to do is quote whitney "crack is wack!"

I think people forget that Spurs were only a dodgy lasagne away from a CL spot a couple of years back... with Mido up front! The year before that we finished 9th. The year before Everton took 4th place off Liverpool, they finished 17th. Past performance is no guarantee of future performance. Your side may go up or down. :p

I think if we do nick 4th (very unlikely) then it'll be from Liverpool, not Arsenal.

Skippi you need to be realistic.

How much has anyone seen of Gomes? Iv not seen much, hence why I ask.
Quite a bit. Especially against us in the UEFA cup

Bales still incredibly young, I wouldnt rely on him when the going gets tough.
In the time he was fit last season, he showed he can handle the high pressure games. Arsenal being his best.

King is a prolific sicknote, Woodgate I think can probably do well this season.
King has had his share of problems, yes, but he feels he can get back into the game this season

Jenas doesnt set the world alight for me tbh, he gets knocked about quite a lot from when iv seen him too.
On his day, he can put in great performances. He may also end up vice-captain, being one of the longest serving left at the club

Will modric and jenas even strike a decent partnership up?
You won't know until you try it

Will dos santos, modric and arshavin adapt to the league?
They have the quality to do it, it's up to Ramos to make it happen ASAP

Will Bent and Arshavin strike up a partnership?
Again, You won't know till you try it
Will Bent even get in the first team this year?
All depends on who we sign but I'd say that there is a great chance of him being an integral part of next season

Seemed to work for man city pretty quickly last season

Im sure the core of Man City had already played in the EPL before

It looks like all Spurs hopeful front 4 (only hopeful in that all of them arent actually purchased yet) havent ever played a single EPL match between them

Spurs simply don't have enough steel to challenge the top 4 imho, that is painfully obvious and I'm sure Ramos and Poyet are more than aware of this.

Hopefully the rumours I'm hearing are true and there are at least another 4 players arriving.... all of them quality. If 2 of those can add some bite to our team then I'll have a re-think but as things stand we'll struggle to finish 6th.

We'll be a force at home but pushovers away.
