Tottenham will get 3rd BOTTOM next season

Tottenham look look like they are signing decent players but you've got to take into account the clubs above them. Who have Tottenham got who is on a par with Cech, Essien, Ronaldo, Ferdinand, Torres, Gerrard, Fabregas or Clichy.

5th as a possibility sure. Your miles off 80 pts which 3rd will require most likely. Arsenal may at this rate slip up a bit but to take them and Liverpool out will not be possible with your back 4 and leaking defence. Also, your new strike force wont be hitting 46 goals between the first two i bet (berbs and keane got 23 each overall last season)

So who are your 2 holding midfielders then?

Last night against Orient, it was a combination of Modric, Huddlestone, Jenas and O'Hara.

Spurs won't be playing with two out-and-out strikers next season, so it's a moot point.

I think we'll be playing like Chelsea next season only not quite so boring.

There'll be few goals but as long as our defense goes unscathed we should be able to keep them out for once. I'm predicting that the quite a few of our goals next season will come from midfield.

Spurs are 15/8 with BlueSq without the big four.

9/4 yesterday.

Tbh it's a solid bet, but for a long-term bet, you'd have to stake a lot to make it worthwhile.

Everton.. hmm. They've got some quality players, and proven goalscorers. They missed Cahill for a good chunk of last season but still managed 5th. They're 5/1, as are Villa, but I really don't think we'll be up to it.

We've lost Bouma for 5-6 months, have no solid right-back, a small squad, and possibly a UEFA cup campaign to deal with. It'll knacker the team out, as we can't really rotate our squad enough.

Aye, Arsenal are in desperate need of a CB. It's all fun and games being linked with these midfield/attacking threats but I'd much prefer to be seriously linked with a CB or 2 ..

I think the Arsenal defensive frailties are blown way out of proportion.

We conceeded 3 more goals than Liverpool last season and only about 5-6 more than Chelsea.

Its seems as though one or two bad defensive games are highlighted in the press and its a disaster but not taken into context over the course of the season.

Exactly, plus two things went against us last season in terms of CB's. Gallas going utterly mental lol, and Toure being clearly shattered after the ACoN.

Up until then I thought Gallas had done an ok job, something I reckon will continue. Toure also didn't play this summer so should be well rested up for next season.

Arsenal might not have bought big in the summer, but then again when do we ever and always finish in the top four.

Our youngsters held their own for most of the year and this season they are more experienced. I think we respons well to the underdog tag that people give us at the beginning of the season with the big four.

As long as we dont sell any more I think we will definately be top four next year.

Toures will be better rested this season without the ANC and hopefully come back to the ways of old. And hopefully Gallas would have taken a good hard look at himself during the summer and realised that he cant sulk like a baby, especially if he is supposed to be the captain of the team.

I think a top 4 is highly unlikely, you were so far away last season and have sold one of your best players. You've bought in some very expensive players none of which are world beaters. Dos Santos is completely unproven, same with Modric and Bentley is overrated. Then you have Arshavin coming in for mega bucks again who no one else wants. You still have no DM and a pair of sicknotes at CB. 1 striker of note who happens to be a moody sod. UEFA cup spot is realistic to think you'll be challenging the top 4 is a little optimistic.

I'd have thought you would have learnt from last year ;), don't expect Arsenal to keel over as they have quality throughout which will see them pushing the top 2 again.

Last year is last year :)

I think a top 4 is very realistic. If it does happen, it will be at the expense of Arsenal.. ;)

I cant see spurs even making the top 6, they were leaky last season and there hasnt been much change at the back.
Theyv lost the captain, the teams had a lot of new faces brought in, so it will take time to 'gel' .. theyll improve upon last season.. but im not expecting any miracles.

We've lost our captain?

Since when?!

And hasn't been much change at the back?

There's nout wrong with that.

While I agree, there isn't anything wrong with that back line. Infact, I'd say it's one of the best line-ups in the league, but how often will they realistically play together?
If we manage to play with that defense more than 10 times over the season, I'll eat an undetermined item of headgear.
