Tottenham will get 3rd BOTTOM next season

People say this every year. I bet they crumble again. I personally hope not. Will make a change for once if they do start preforming on a consistent basis

As a Spurs fan I can only laugh at the OP. No way we will get 3rd without big big changes to half the squad. I'd like to see personally Lassan Diarra, David villa, a goalkeper, right winger and a centre back before we can even think about challenging for 5th!

As a Spurs fan, I think this might be a shade optimistic. :p
I'd be happy with a UEFA cup place.

Agreed. And a good push in UEFA this season. Will be a another two years or so before we can think about pushing for top 4. We crumbled under the expectation last season.

One thing I am suprised at is the cash that seems available to Ramos this window. Levy is really placing his trust in him. Luckily, Ramos is buying the right players.

Woodgate and Hutton in January were inspired purchases which have both proved great for the squad and with Modric, Bostock and now Dos Santos, next season will be exciting.

Still awaiting this huge clearout that everyone was talking about. Haven't heard anything about anyone actually being sold yet other then the usual Berba rumours that seem weaker and weaker by the minute.

Well, this thread had to appear sooner or later.

Indeed, I know us Scousers say every year is our year, but at least we do actually win something, Spurs however have been 'back' for aslong as I remember.

I reckon Ramos will have a bad start, they will sack him, get in another top manager, some more top player, and be back for season 09/10.

And Liverpool will win the league next season:p

I still cant understand where they get their money from tbh, they spend staggering amounts of cash, with no real revenue from being in the top 4 or CL footy. And prior to the CC what else had they won in the last few years?

Can't see that happening. Not after the slating the board got after Jolgate. Ramos has shown instant improvemnets in the squad and although most of us Spurs fans miss Jol, it's obvious that Ramos is a class above.

As for the cash aspect, Spurs are one of the richest clubs in the world. 13th or something like that.

I'd like to ask whose spot do you think you'll take Arsenals or Liverpools :D

But how are they the 13 richest, they havent had the sustained sucess that other big teams have had.

Ramos may have won you the cup but even since he took over, your league form hasnt really been any better than MJ.

Highly doubt Tottenham will push for 3rd, I can't see the top 4 budging whatsoever. Realistically 7th or 8th imo maybe pushing a UEFA cup place.

TBH, even I am stumped as to how we still have this wealth. TBH although I have supported Spurs all my life, it is only the last 4 years I have took a real interest in what goes on, off the pitch. (I'm 18)

When Ramos arrived he had to make drastic changes, most noticable being fitness. The press printed stories that the canteen was full of chips and heavy sauces, fizzy drinks etc. Now it's all healthy and this is evident by the players performance on the pitch, most noticable being Jermaine Jenas who has come on leaps and bounds under Ramos, being one of our best players for a spell shortly after Ramos' arrival.

You cannot say he is over his injures because of 1 season. And, how many times has King come back to fitness, only to go out 5-10 games later with another injury?

He played well over 30 games the previous season for us (Boro) as well. He is still prone to picking up the odd knock or two but he hasn't had any long term injuries for two seasons now.

For me, the players which will be key to our season will be Keane, Woodgate, Bale, Modric and Lennon.

If these players can perform to their best consistently, then we should have what it takes to at the least, have a good league run.

Although I am not optimistic about a top 4 finish, you can never rule it out. Who honestly expected Man City to do so well for such a prolonged spell? If only they had kept up the standard of play throughout the season there was a good chance that Liverpool would have missed out on 4th and there was a time when the Liverpool fans I know weren't sure where they would end up. Most not even convinced they would gain UEFA qualification.

Based on what is he a class above? Fair enough you won the Carling cup but you have looked just as bad otherwise. Jol lost authority by his board undermining him but Ramos has nothing to prove he is better yet.

1. Bringing in the players - Woodgate, Modric, Dos Santos. These players have claimed that Ramos was instrumental to their arrival at Spurs.

2. Tactics - Unlike the typical Jol 'Bring a sub on in the 70th minute' Ramos is making subs which will actually affect the game and as has been said by Keane, King etc. his motivation along with Poyet before big matches is the thing that is pushing them that little further to get results.

3. Youth Chances - Under BMJ, the reserves didn't get much in the way of a run of games but with Ramos, we have seen O'Hara become a regular in the first team and players like Archibald-Henville and Taarabt also getting their chances to impress

4. Deciciveness - Ramos done something Jol wouldn't. He dropped Robinson. Cerny then put in performance after performance until he also began to make blunders, which then gave Robinson his spot back. This shows that he is a fair manager and will make you work for your spot in the first team.

I like both management styles, but I don't see a third place finish under Ramos yet! I'd be ecstatic with having 5th back, but cup success could drive Ramos more than the league.

We've backed him with money, now needs backing in all his decisions and given plenty of time to succeed. Need to be careful not to become like Newcastle in ditching the manager when a few results don't work out for them.

Spurs are rich because they're a London club who were very successful when the baby boomers were growing up. Spurs have a large fanbase of rich supporters.

Just look at how much Spurs charge for tickets. My season ticket is now £862 a year!

Don't forget our Kayman Island-based owner is a multi-billionaire too.
