Township Tale

So I did a thing.... You know that awesome 2 handed metal handle you found...

I used it. I put the massive hammer head on it.

I'm not scared of the rock men anymore! Little ones are crushed in 2 hits. Big ones a few more, but not too much, and they get knocked over too.

Mined some ore and also finished the bridge to the mining shrine (approach the mines, go up the path to the left to the top), got a level in mining now, so every 4th hit is a crit. Made a fair few copper bars too, about 20 or so, with the ore I collected. There's a load more ore veins up on the top, so I'd enjoy going up there again and blast our way through the golems (who've been dropping gold and sometimes iron too) and get more copper.

EDIT - I left it in the 2nd blacksmith building in one of the big shelving units, have a play with it.

edIT EDIT - Just used ti again to smash all the rock golems at the top, got a ton of ore, more stones and mined some coal.

haha, sounds awesome!! I think it's some kind of dual weapon though. It looks like something you should attach something to each end.

Going to stick with Archery for the time been myself. Haven't got the time to play enough to get my levels up in a variety to things.

Also, I am having a problem, I am not getting rewards for crafting stuff. I crafted and Pickaxe in the Blacksmith and the bag and some other object(not sure what it is) in the crafting hall, but, the objectives out the front of both buildings says I still need to craft a tool/craft a recipe on the crafting station.

Not sure if I got those or not? Not too worried about it (unless it actually makes a real world difference?).

You're only allowed to have 8 active skills at a time anyway I believe, so specialisation is the best way forward, and it mostly seems to be QOL changes, rather than anything else. Only combat (or archery I guess) seems to have anything other than a time saving effect, as it can save your life.

Well, you must have because you are the one who brought me to the crafting station and got me to make my own bag so I would get the achievement. You know just before you enter the crafting station there is a list of tasks in neon on the left handside of the door. There is a tick box beside each one. Same with the blacksmith. I am sure you know what they are.

All I am worried about is that if it isn't giving me credit for finishing the task, then it might not giving me credit for any crafting I am doing, so I am not improving anything. I am stuck at the same level all the time.

I know the boards, I just don't know if I got credited for those ones. I haven't been credited for the mushrooms one at the woodcutters hut, but did experience a bug (I think) for picking up wood, but then it just worked later.

We saw that you had some leveling up at the skill shrine we visited, so you must be getting credit for some stuff at least.

Right, good news, I've found 2 handle recipes. One is a weird one handed one that looks like you have to punch with it (you can put a dagger blade on). The other is a curved wooden handle that I tried out one of the 4 way attachments on, it's currently got an axe and a dagger.

I've also found out what I want to do with the next 2 handed handle we have available. Warhammers are cool, but I'm hoping to be able to put on a massive sword blade, and have a reaaaaaalllly long range swinging weapon.

EDIT - It's a Long Branch Handle apparently.

I see you made a woodcutter attachment, and found the woodcutters backpack recipe too. Will be very handy for a wood run past the dust bowl. We'll need some iron to make the attachment stands though.

The massive sword on the hand and a half metal handle works quite well. Doesn't seem to do as much damage as the hammer, but can be stored on the side pouch.

Once we find the long single handed wooden handle, I'll make a little gold hammer head and put it on, apparently they're the best for hammering in nails.

Funny that it worked ok for you apart from that first day. But, hopefully they can get the issues sorted before they release that update again.

Did we lose anything on the Server?

Wasn't in today at all, not sure I will make it in tomorrow either.

I had a few other crashes, but the login issue seemed to be improved. I guess one was server side and one was quest side.

They said nothing should have been lost. I've not played today (didn't yesterday either). Waiting for it to cool down i think, and also perhaps to try and get on at the same time.

Yeah, sorry man, that's my bad. I am finding it very hard to free up time at the moment. What I was actually hoping would happen is that some more people like Shi, NightStalker and Dokko would have joined the server by now. So more chance of actually been online at the same time as somebody else.

Not your fault! It's been bloody hot here, not sure I want to do prolonged sessions of anything.

Aye, that's the other problem with A Township Tale, it's impossible to play for just 15 minutes!! You might go on with the intention of leaving after 15 minutes, but, there is always just one more quick task to do!! :p

Quick chest run... oh, full, best drop that off and go to the other chests.... hmm, now I could just kill some birds for food, since I've not got any... best cook that up... guess it's been a couple of in game days, best do a quick chest run...

I haven't played this in over a week!!

If anybody has got the game recently and needs an invite to the Server I setup for OCUK members, just let me know here.

I've dropped in twice I think in the last week or so. Found a few more recipes for the backpack pouches, found one for ore, which would be super useful for a mining trip, but we need iron to create the thing that we attach it on with :D. Also found another super long two handed metal handle, so we've got another when we need it.

Probably not. Get a move on mate, there is a whole pile of iron ore we need moved :p

We need it mined first though :D. And if you can build the televator things on your ways down the mine levels...

Mining with 3 would probably give enough light to not be anywhere near as scary, and 3 could easily beat the monsters down there too. Just need to get out the way of explody rock boys.

just loaded the game, and made an account, got into game, started to create my player, and touch stopped responding, i couldn't pick up the pencil thing again or change the plaques to different things, so i had to quit and come back in, now i cant start the tutorial ?
unless this is it, i.e. work it out what to do yourself ?

Doesn't sound right, but to be honest, if you can just get into melmacs town, let me know and I can log in now and help you out anyway.

I had to go anyway but the server was resetting. Fairly sure I've shown you most the basics. About the only thing we didn't do was chop down trees (not all trees are choppable) or fight enemies. We can do that another time :D.

posted reply for other thread in here by mistake....

anyhoo...

anyone have this for pcvr.....brilliant game but not wanting to 'donate' to be able to set own server if just me on ma lonesome....

needs to be played with others in my opinion....

:)

One off payment of £8 for the qiest 2 version gets you a private server.

And of course you can join the rest of us too.

going to see if i can create a server, do the tutorial and start my own town before going over to Mels Town and *******it up lol

The only thing in the tutorial, that we didn't do together, is cutting down trees. Which is literally swinging an axe (or flint on a stick) against a tree, and then against the bits you chop down :D.

i dont have a quest....its rift s i have.....

:)

G

Now that makes it tougher! Just have to buy a quest 2... £308 to play township tale :D.

That's great :)

Oh, I finished the Desmelter, found a couple of buckets in a chest run. I desmelted a couple of cauldrons that I found in the same chest run. Got 9 iron bars from the 2 cauldrons.

Awesome! There's a few cauldrons around, some lamps too that we don't need (at least not that many).

EDIT - Lets build a backpack modification place, and then we can make some ore pouches before we go mining.

Tutorial - kids as well , what the hell, i just want to do the tutorial !! :(

anyway, i dont know what im doing, i really need to start from the beginning, so i know what to get where to go lol

im online

The tutorial is run in a completely separate location to the rest of the game.

Grab some food, or berries from bushes, and explore around. Run away from enemies is probably your best bet at first. You pull flint out of the floor, grab sticks and grass from the floor too. Death isn't a big problem but you drop your gear, including backpack, so just don't carry anything valuable.
