Toyota iQ

No fault was found. Was told that the car can be a little "raspy" hmmm?

But gave me a hoover and wash before collection which was a nice touch. He said if the problem persists or gets worse to get in contact and they will look at it again.

But so far I'm LOVING this car, great little motor, it really is.

Yes he is right the exhaust sound is "raspy" on these but it shouldn't really sound like a rattle.

Hmmm, what should I do, take it to an independent garage and get them to check it over then take it back under warranty if they find anything?

RTJ

Have you driven the car with them to make sure you are both listening to the same thing. If they drove it and couldn't hear a rattle they may just have put it down to the exhaust noise.

No, he just checked it over with me for any marks etc, then took it into the garage and said that the technicians could not find anything ?? :(

Yeah, what I might do is get my uncle to check the filter and underneath etc, as he was a mechanic for 5 years so....

Also just looking at the Aston Martin Cygnet, its also identical to the iQ, even the controls on the steering wheel are IDENTICAL!!!

What is the mpg on this thing? I am guessing that is why you bought it?

I originally thought these are cute little cars, city driving. I see one every morning on the way to the train station and they don't look that bad.

But that was before I found out how much you paid for it and how much they go for ! I thought they were like £4k or something since I paid for my Yaris of the same age of for your IQ.

I could rant on my Yaris but I remember I did like something else when i was looking for my car.

Something like this.

2009, Fiat 500, 1.2L, albeit the base Pop model but at least it has alloys.

But...£500 more.... the Lounge model.

2009 Fiat 500, 1.4L, still does 45mpg combined (on paper).

I am running at 47mpg check the link below
I do a lot of urban driving a 6 mile journey each way to the station everyday and with weather getting warmer it getting better my onboard computer is saying 51.

on long runs I have seen upto 58 mpg

With exchaust being a triple is does sound a bit strange when i first got mine I thought it was blown but because it makes a thudding noise when stationary.
