Toyota Yaris GR4 4x4 Rally going into production.....

JayEmms video is probably the best to watch for an unbiased view of how the car compares to other similar cars. He's also got a Celica GT-Four so has experience of Rally specials.

I absolutely trust him but also know him personally and he just says how it is of course what he may want in a car could differ from me and you but generally his reviews are harsh and to the point so generally if he says a car is good then it’s damn good.

Makes a good point about who will buy it. It’s probably great as a car to sit in a fleet but a normal hot hatch is probably a better option for most people.

The high seating position seems to be a common Japanese/Toyota issue in my experience.

That is just a modern hatch thing :/

Try some of the Renault hatchbacks, the seats are ridiculously high.

Unless you buy a proper sports car you don't get a good driving position.

The Carwow drag race was a pretty straightforward showing of performance and matches what we should expect.

1. Yaris + AWD and wet conditions = quicker. Not exactly surprising.
2. Rolling race, traction less of an issue and the car with more power pulls better at higher speed.
3. Lighter car with big brakes stops quicker.

Still an interesting comparison and has been said if you want the best all round "daily" hot hatch for £30k then that will be the civic. If you want a bit more of bespoke skunkworks esque toy then it'll be the Yaris.

Mines going to sit with my Mazda 3 MPS and MX5 30th Anni. So I can play driven wheel top trumps. FWD, RWD, AWD. Spin the wheel and take the keys.

That’ll be a nice fleet. Although if it was mine I’d like to also add something with more than 4cyl, preferably as a waft-machine :) also, you could also spin the wheel, take the keys and spin some more wheels :p

Difficult, i've owned an SLK55 so done the V8, owned a 350Z so thats the V6. Both were a bit more wafty than the current fleet, but the heavier cars get the less fun I seem to have. I am still tempted to add a rotary though for 0 cylinders!

Good walk around and under the car, that is a beefy brake setup for such a light car. I want one but having trouble trying to convince my wife to replace her Mini with one. I hope they make it available with both the circuit and convenience pack in the future. I wonder what the reason is for not offering them together.

Just looked through the difference on the compared tool.

Looks to me like a GVM cap and staying at 1650kg and so the extra options of each will take the car close to that when filled with the 4 occupants at 75kg each. So unlikely to ever offer both together; even though looks minor weight it soon adds up.

It’s available in other markets with both, so it’s either a RHD thing or a rip off Britain thing. Bit of both I suspect.

It's too inconsistent to be that. Toyota don't do it across the range and we often get more. The UK spec GT86 gets most of the options as standard including the up-rated "WRX" brakes. Most of the world's didn't.

Also the car is RHD by default as it's Japanese. Any issues related to that will be with the LHD conversions.

im really tempted but the big deposit is a bit of killer for me at the moment as the monthly cost with a lower deposit is a bit insane for what it is, GFV is low which i guess is dictating the deposit and monthly costs. ( im no expert here so correct me if im wrong).
