Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

I've seen some site that do 'virtual' shares, so you can have a crack at it just for the crack. Anyone know if these follow real shares or just made up shares? Would be interesting to have a go.

It's sometimes a bit buggy, but it does the job. It trades in real-time and gives you £10k to start.

Yah lost in BARC, DES and FOGL sad thing is I sold up my XTA at 11 GBP taking a 1.5k loss and they are now trading at 13 pounds!

why did you sell up? lost faith in them or needed the funds for another stock?

Just gradual declines on my profits at the moment. Waiting for the div payment on GVC and the solid div announcement on BP.

Along with MTA to start production on their wells.. that'd be nice.

I sold XTA as I lost faith as it had dropped a lot and went back up.

Im still holding the others so its not really lost yet.

I'm really. Took a bit of a cautious aproach a few weeks back when a lot of my shares rose a lot one day:

Sold:
RKH @ 510
RRL @ 6
FOGL @ 164
DES @ 166

Made some really good profit on them, and now they've all fallen away a lot from my sell prices

not surprising - DES was always very high risk, i don't know why people own it ??

i wonder if this wakes people up to the risks of the Falkland islands and deep water drilling or if the same thing happens again - up on hype and crash when they (very probably) hit another duster.

It is a risk but its fun as long as you know the risks and dont play with money you cant afford to lose.

It's not as if DES have gone out of business... At 84p I'm still in profit and fully expect them to find oil in their next 4 wells.

Likewise sitting on a large profit in RKH. No regrets investing in F.I. oil exploration. The best shares I've ever bought.

Nope ditched MTA ages ago, MTV are up 25% today which puts me 38% up overall, happy days
