Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

UK market is absolutely shocking.
I've wasted so much time/cash just loitering in it.

Since. Putting some in S&P etf and other US shares I've done much much better. Depressingly so.

Still fear of AI bubble. Had I jumped in earlier... Ugh. Regrets.

In the same boat. UK stocks hardly did anything and cash wasn't invested in US bits.

Which etf did you go for? What other US shares did you explore? Total Index US Market?

S&S ISA? Any particular fund and platform?
Before the tax year looking at VUAG with InvestEngine to save on some fees and see how I go as have a global index for my SIPP.
VUAG SIPP through Vanguard. It's done very, very well for me. I could actually take it now, but I don't need it so letting it ride.YOLO.
I'm also a few % in the UK, which I'm in the process of reducing because it's pretty much wasted.

I've got vuag (considering berkshire hathaway too)

Also have a number of good US shares (nvidia, SMCI, coinbase, and qbts) and a few duds (upstart, ionq, snow, which took a dump on last results).

I use coinbase as an proxy or Etf (in effect) for whole crypto market. Smci is up 100pc in a couple of months.
Nvidia is up 30pc in a few days and coinbase is up like 90pc in a few months.

UK shares never do this.
Only good UK shares have been EZJ. Rest have just trundled or even lost. Only taking money out of UK shares. No more going in.

Anyone know why snow full name gets starred out?
Oh yeah. I see now! :D

I thought about snow myself… it went up.. then back down again… still thinking it’s a good long term investment. All those AI companies will need somewhere to give or store their data.

The again I should have brought ARM when it was at 45… should have, could have, would have… hindsight is a wonderful thing…

You're such a depressive lol. RR has done 150% YTD

Without looking at graphs my ftse etf was very very boring it just stabilized things when the world markets went bad but uninspiring rises ,decent 4 percent dividends though there's an FT article called

The FTSE 100 has a prestige deficit

if googled will allow to view without subscription, i tried to copy and paste a snippet bet got a copyright warning

I do 50/50 Vanguard US Equity Index and HSBC FTSE All World Index. Low fees and I get exposure to the US and the rest of the world.

The UK will and continue to be rubbish and the US will be the main growth centre I expect.

Interesting to see the US Total Index vs just the 500 https://www.morningstar.co.uk/uk/co...idType=msid&securityIds=F000003YD7|0P0001HZW3

It is pretty much neck and neck recently and any major growth was surely by the seven tech stars Tesla, Nvidia, Meta Platforms, Alphabet, Microsoft, Apple, and Amazon.com

How safe is uninvested cash is T212 when you opt for 5.2% interest?

I presumed it was FCSC protected upto £85k but noticed it is treated as investment using QMMF and not protected.

Seeing pensions funds/banks/funds hold their cash there is it nothing to really worry about?

Now ~5.1 - That 0 seems to be creeping ever closer :D

Tbh it’s probably the most risky stock I have got and bought hastily high (averaged up!) FOMO in full effect!

Still hope in stock not a total dead duck, yet…

Honestly thought landing on moon would make it go crazy meme stock ala GameStop.

But I’ll hope for good earnings report (coming sometime end of March) and some more pumping on their next launch.

Average at $10.28 had small buy at $4.5 got average down little.

Time will tell if that’s good money after bad

chuck a chimp in there to operate the camera/laser too!

No it’s not FCSC protected.. it’s the same if you opt for the debit card…

AI is just going to accelerate the consolidation of wealth generation into an increasingly small number of US based multinationals. You'd be daft to not have a significant chunk in them for the long haul.

For my long term ETFs, I'm mostly in VUAG, and a bit in IITU which is an S&P tech etf.

I'm also heavily into a YOLO on tbe psychadelic therapy industry, ATAI mainly, which is doing nicely, plus a couple others, NUMI, CYBN.

Lucid and Rivian, well less said the better, although I have traded the swings and sold at distant highs so the pain isn't too bad.
