Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

I'm considering moving all my SIPP+ISA investments from VHVG (Developed World) to VUAG (S&P 500).

Reasons:
- Much better performance (historically, but hard to see it changing)
- Not convinced that including UK+EU etc adds value.
- Lower fees, albeit trivial 0.09 vs 0.12

This post is a sense check, does this seem like a reasonable thing to do or not?

My goal is FIRE, amass enough wealth to retire at 50 or sooner, currently 38 and on track.

We are in a period of euphoria in US markets, I wouldn't make any rash decisions.

about 69.46% of VHVG is the US market, but that does include a small percentage of shares in the S&P 1000 (mid and small cap companies)
The S&P 500 is on a bull run at the moment, I think about once I've added up all the amounts I have in different funds, I'm heavy weighted to the US market anyway.

SP500 looking close to breaking the 6k barrier. It's been an absolute monster this year. As others have pointed out, this magnitude of growth or hardcore speculative investment cannot last. I'm sure a few folk will be cashing in over the next few months.

Mostly MSTR, PLTR, TSLA and BTC. They all went up a lot, like 13% in a day.
Palantir's not stopped yet :D

Did you sell or unrealised gains?

I sold about 10% of my Palantir on the 4th at 41 $ but I was already up over 100% then I think.
but after the trump news it's like I never sold it anyway.
so sold another 5% at 57$

58$ right now and I have no clue as to whether it will flatten out, drop or keep going.

Ima keep holding for the long term though, just sell off what I need to main my profiles ratio

Nice. I don't have the balls for significant sums in individual ETFs but good luck!

Oooh, SP500 broke the 6k ceiling!
My wondering atm is I was thinking of starting a mid cap holding for the USA as the 500 is getting more and more concentrated.

But if tarrifs and trumps other polices come in they benefit the mega corporation's far more so now I'm thinking the oredicted growth in small and mid cap isn't going to happen and its going tonremain mostly in the m7 and very large cap companies.

I can just about parse this (: but I agree, although it has been continually stated that small caps are undervalued, the movement in the Russell indices for example, appears quite gentle compared to the SP or even World indices in comparison over the long-term. That said, it never hurts to diversify but perhaps a stronger bet would be individual ETFs in small/mid as opposed to an index.

I have been riding the sofi and pltr wave up for a few weeks with gains over 40% and 60% respectively. Whilst I think sofi still has legs pltr getting a bit rich for me so have set a stop loss to protect the majority of my profits.

I really struggle with fomo once doing well so trying to be logical. I need to set some hard rules and live by then.

All in since I started in May I am up over 30% across the whole portfolio with only Google and Microsoft in the red as I bought at peak.

It’s not life changing amounts but it’s a considerable profit now and it would hurt to lose it so need to get those stops in and realise I can always buy in again later.

I was buying a property so I had to sell half of my palantir while it was 22 lol. At some point I just want to sell everything except bitcoin and put it in QQQ. No stress and much safer!

I remember there was a guy in the Reddit page that put like 1 million usd in options for PLTR, I think they expired by now, he would be insanely rich if they hadn’t….

Historically buying stocks when they are this expensive leads to poor returns over the next decade. But stocks have been expensive for a while so who knows?
the s&p 500 have out preformed the russell 2000 in the last ten years... before that the russell had out preformed the s&p 500... so swings and roundabouts... surely the thought would be if the s&p 500 is under preforming, it just means we are getting cheap stocks?

I really thought the s&p500 had ran out of steam last year, but I was wrong... lol.. who knows, if someone did; they surely they would hedge their bet..

anther good day so far
PLTR +5%
ACHR +12% (New holding too :D bought some at Pre market)
HOOD +10%
RKLB +10%

PLTR looks like it's still going up too :D can't believe it's almost 62$
it was about 22$ this time last year, and at the start of 2023 around 7$

old video
Wonder how much the shorts lost... can't say he didn't warn them
