Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

I'm current 6.5% up on my SS ISAs and 5.45% up on my pension for this current tax year
Nice but I'm sure you can do better with both if you have the facility / opportunity to change fund types.

Vanguard Pension, transferred in February, primarily VWRP, is ~14% YTD.
Vanguard ISA, weighted towards SP500, is up ~22% YTD.

my pension has 50% diversed funds which as funds which ain't normally available unless I take it as a package, it's the first time this year that it's under preform the other half of my pension (45% dev world, 5% Em market)
and my ISA has bonds and reits in it which are under performing at the moment.

My ionq punt has come to fruition.
Its up 150pc MTD.

FFS Trump winning.
But also. Stonks.

Multiple stocks I hold are double digit up. Some significantly.

Quantum computing stocks up have really flown today. Not sure why. Looks like more positivity than just trump effect.
QBTS and IONQ up over 20 and 30pc on the day

Edit. It may be due to ionqs revenue climbing every quarter. (still negative eps)

36% today! Think I'd be taking profits from that.
I have taken some from today yes

If revenue keeps rising it may maintain its momentum.

Also taken some profit from upstart as I'm 85 percent up on that after today's jump.

What is going on. Never seen a day like this. Even considering the election news.

Must have a very large amount invested to be up £100k in a single day....
MY ISA was at 47.85% at weds 00:00
60.21% now.

to be up 100k I'd need about a mil

only percent terms are relevant for comparisons anyway, but props to the guy whos up 100k, unless it was all in ETFs :P get some balls man :D

Is there anyone on here who hasn't done well int he last 4 years?, last year was a bit Shakey but half my stocks were like recoiled springs that shot off in the last few months

Can anyone suggest my FXPO (a mining company in Ukraine) jumped by 20pc this week?

I assume it's in East Ukraine and market is predicting Trump does end the war??

I expected it to tank myself.

I'm considering moving all my SIPP+ISA investments from VHVG (Developed World) to VUAG (S&P 500).

Reasons:
- Much better performance (historically, but hard to see it changing)
- Not convinced that including UK+EU etc adds value.
- Lower fees, albeit trivial 0.09 vs 0.12

This post is a sense check, does this seem like a reasonable thing to do or not?

My goal is FIRE, amass enough wealth to retire at 50 or sooner, currently 38 and on track.

Listen - no one can really tell you whether that is sensible or not.

Your risk profile / retirement age / savings amounts / debt / mortgage / family situation will dictate what you should consider for investment.

You reasons are all sound reasons... but I would still consider diversifying a bit more than all savings and retirement pots in a single fund, albeit the fund itself is very diversified. Add in a few other fund managers/styles I would suggest.

Aye, this. I also have a considerable chunk in SP500 and to be fair Tech aint going away and I can only see the index going upwards over the long-term. Even so, I still have ~75% sitting in World and World ex UK. Admittedly the overlap between world and the SP500 is considerable.

Perfectly reasonable, there is nobody on here who is more diversified than you with a single S&P500 ETF, yes they might have 20 ETF's but they are not more diversified.

Wow

Upstart is up another 30 percent today.
That brings month to 70pc and total for me to 90 percent.

My 2 Quantum stocks are up another 5pc again today.

This is insane.
Have taken some profits as this is exceptional rising.

I see kraken robotics up another 6% today, edit make that 12%

They demoed a new undersea drone to 40 naval/business partners recently.
They also raised over 50 mil in funding.

its literally a company with a 550mil market cap that only makes about 20 mil in revenue a quarter, but there YOY growth has been impressive.

I consider it the rocket labs of the sea and suggest people check it out for the 3rd time.

I warned ya'll when it was 0.7 and again at about 1.17$
currently 1.79$
https://www.krakenrobotics.com/ Do your DD and don't quote me when you lose money.
but I'd be surprised if it's not at least 2$ by Christmas

a mutual fund owns 500k shares btw, which isn't a lot but it's weird for a mutual fund to be interested in such a small company
