Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

What are you looking to deal in now? I've been in on Halifax all morning and haven't been kicked off once.

Its when i'm trying to get the best price. Looking at some more of the popular oils/mining to add to my collection. I'm spread a few ways at the moment.
Not the best way to spend a day off work, housework, discovery channel, halifax online. All my folder is up +ve in % terms, except BARC which is a tiny amount which i'm not overly fussed on for payback.
Probably not the best way to lay my funds around but i'm looking to add a couple more within the next few months for 12-18month holds..... as ever the plan will change and with the likes of XEL i'm not making it personal, if it dives i'm jumping, if it makes a bit more i'll skim the top :)

Excellent post Dale, thanks.

short term bear

GKP staying within the gameplan so far. Bit of a reversal day for it today which is bearish and also close to a double top in the highest price for it so far

That kind of confirmation or cap to the upside should be enough for it to lose the 5 day average price which is where it is right now 189. Its holding for now

Havent checked the oil price but dollar is stronger making all prices revised down more likely

Barc is holding its gains but its just the same as before, trend is down and it didnt break out to a real nice price of 310 or so. I would have sold if it did so saves me the effort I guess, ex div is approaching but its only like 1.5% yield and theres greater concerns ongoing with euro or irish sovereign debt apparently though surely its old news

Barc top of the range, target nearterm would be 267 though I hold some anyhow. However I like Santander more, its far more negative and cheaper imo, hence I would sell barc to buy sant and I already got some more recently on sterling recovery vs euro (BOE aint printing money, praise be)

Anyone got a deal in potash at all. I had skr, sxx been hot at times and bhp fell through on pot recently most likely but its still a sector I'd like to be in generally

Interesting array of investments here, personally I've only 1 stock at the moment, BMR.L, in @ 2.8p, and not looked back since, if anyone has time to research them I'd advise it, but of course, DYOR etc.

Also looking into getting into SHG and SKR soon based off others advise my own research.

Here's to another good week!

Stuck with ROK and obviously can't sell them now! Not sure what is going to happen :(

Me too, I've lost about £2.5K on this one :(

Let's hope the administrators manage to sell the firm and at least give us shareholders something, but I wouldn't hold your breath :(

As you say, lots of research needed, I read a lot of the posts over on Interactive Investor message boards (use 20 or 50 vote filter to thin out the dross).

Short view would be that as some have said, they are ready to explode. They are nearing the top of the league on AIM listed companies by market cap, looking towards a move to FTSE 250 early next year (based mainly on PI investor opinion I think). Should see a bit of northward price movement when Iraq government formation gets confirmed (could be this or next week?)and then as news on the accelerated drilling campaign comes through the price is jumping northward.

Interactive Investor message boards has attracted some very VERY knowledgeable people in fields ranging from oil sector geology to companies involved with take-over (and hostile) attempts. I think the general thinking is that the company is going to get taken out as some point in the near future, CEO has even stated that they are an "exploration company", and would probably be unable to transform their massive finds in Iraq into production facilities before one of the majors make an offer that can't be refused.

Take over predictions are rife obviously, and that would be down to you to make your own assumptions as to what shares would be worth based on OIP, however expectations would be several times what the SP is today, add to that the potential move to FTSE250, oil flow rates etc etc etc and you've got potential to make a few £££ on this one yet.
Thanks for the post! I read iii all day - it's great (once you're aware of all the BS to get past!) and the posters on RKH are fantastic among others.

My only concern about GKP/XEL is that they've gained an awful lot so are now where RKH were in June and will hold at a level while things are sorted out. Goldman Sachs posted a sell for them both today...I think I'll hang around a bit and see what they do. XEL can go in an ISA which is nice.

YELL are doing crap, bad results this morning. Not really sure what they can do to get out the mess they are in (loads of debt)

No surprise there, Yell are pretty much doomed and it just a matter of time before they close up shop.

Sold out of both CNR and SXX after the nice raise today. Plan to go back in on the retrace.

Now only holding RRR and CAZA, these babies I'm not letting go :D

What was the original reason to buy ROK especially

Sounds a lot like CNT a victim of government cut backs ? Its slightly confusing because some outsourcing companies may do better or at least ok as more off loading to private firms occurs in order to cut costs

Two Ive invested in are FGP and GOG which should do ok so long as they can manage transport well

POG and KAZ fastest risers for me today as dollar drops even though its no lower then yesterday, market back to its highs

GKP holding steady more or less, was their last drill report ok

Go on the CNR. :) Up 16% today again, now at 3.25.

yes - looking good

aleoap - 9 Nov'10 - 09:34 - 7013 of 7013

What do we have in La India - Condor estimates 2.3 million tonnes at 9.5 g/t for 709,000 oz in C1 + C2 (This doesn't include the P1 - total estimate is 1,840,000 oz gold).

Going back to my valuation I will use £100 per indicated (I won't use measured valuations for the C1 + C2 this time) and £20 per inferred P1.

Indicated - 709,000oz = £70,900,000*
Inferred - 1,131,000oz = £22,620,000*

So total value I have on this basis is £93,520,000 - (*IF IT IS CONVERTED!)

Add in Nicaragua 41,000 oz gold already JORC'd - a further £820,000. Add in cash of approx £1,300,00 and no debt brings a total of....

£95,640,000 or just under 20p (not including El Sal whatsoever).

Put whatever discount on this you like all I know is that this is an undervalued stock and at 10p it will still be cheap based on resource expansion potential, update on our El Rodeo 'boiling zone', relationship with B2gold (who will ultimately make an offer for us imo), potential of El Sal coming good etc etc...
