Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

CNR of and running again this morning

Up 12% already

Seems that way, can't see why unless it's just MMs letting it go after the drops over the last week.

Usual ramping dross on the boards though, some of the posters - one in particular just reposts the same crap over and over again, most of the stuff isn't even relevant!

What are people's opinions on Red Rock ? I bought in at 10.6 originaly (didnt have the cash ready at 6p :(

added more at 16.5 then it hit a a high of 20 and its back down again now at 14 or less despite the good news and the appearance of more good news to come over the coming months.

I was scrambling around trying to buy some more under 14p, really have no idea what's caused it but I've no doubt come the end of December it'll hit 20p again.

XEL have done well over the last 2 days. Up to £3.27 at the minute :)

Shame RRL and BMR aren't doing the same mind you.

Guys - will be looking for entry points soon into the below. Will be investing my full £10.2k ISA allowance into the below, but unsure how do percentage split. Would be interested to hear peoples thoughts on my suggestions. They are mainly to keep an active interest in the markets, while not being overtly risky. I will have a large amount of money being invested by H&L into funds/guilts/bonds etc but they do not advise directly on specific shares.

Personally I wouldn't by 14 shares with 10k. I would split it among 7 and if you can do your other 7 with a new ISA next year. Whilst this may be slightly riskier dealing costs will have less of an impact.

If your being risk averse then I would probably split the % evenly among the differing sectors. I hold a few of them myself.

HL do research on a fair few shares, worth reading

I highlighted the ones I own. lloyds and rbs I bought and sold this week, somewhere under 60 for lloyds I think is a nice entry and 56p is where the largest amount of dealing has occurred apparently though that excludes government I think

VOD is good but a bit late to the party there. Questor discussed them. I got telefonica (O2) instead

They all sound safeish but if you arent sure on percentages maybe a ftse or uk based fund would be better still. Here is the percentages inside a plain ftse tracker - http://finance.yahoo.com/q/hl?s=EWU+Holdings

You can average into funds more easily and cheaply

Why do you like, MAY GURNEY INTEGRATED
Seems like a difficult sector, also you have no oil ? All the big oil is too cheap I think

Tell me about it...I've been watching XEL since 70p when I decided to invest in RRL instead!

Though HER got my XEL money and has done well :)

Graph looks like a ski slope with a blip on friday it could be the dying embers or the start of something. Why are they valued at 34m with with 16 wells, they need funding?

Your workmate must drive a ferrari to be gambling that much in one place, dam

Nighthawk Energy plc (Nighthawk) is an energy company. It is focused on the development of hydrocarbon projects in the United States. As of June 30, 2010, it held 50% interest in the 410,000-acre project, located in Lincoln, Elbert and Washington Counties, Colorado and the operator of the project, Running Foxes Petroleum Inc., held the remaining 50% interest. As of June 30, 2010, the project had 19 wells of 7,500-8,000 feet, comprising 16 production wells, two salt water disposal wells and one shut-in production well. As of June 30, 2010, it held an 80% interest in the Devon Oilfield and a 50% interest in the Buchanan and Worden, Hammond and Xenia sections of Revere, respectively. Running Foxes, the operator, held the remaining interests. On August 10, 2010, Nighthawk and Running Foxes announced the purchase of 3,250 acres in Bourbon County, known as the Green Valley project.

Owns a car sales company :D

I haven't looked into them at all and all I've heard (from colleagues rantings) is they got a new guy in charge who has dumped every asset they had except one.. :o

Yea I see a manager bought some company shares, I think that happened with CNT and Jarvis before they got chopped up so I dont place much faith in such things.
They dont own 1% of the company even

Shale oil is expensive to extract I think. However the oil price did rise a lot recently, 6.5% in the last week and generally I think oil will stay higher then expected and so long as it does even expensive projects could be more worthwhile then previously.
Main thing is do they have the funds to kickstart it all, offloading the distractions to other people could be a smart move and help cashflow

Really needs to stay above 8.8 region to build on this blip, theres little to no hope in these graphs on price alone

i wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.
