Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

Agreed, all these guys wasting real money :D Seriously I think it can help add experience if you have the willpower to give a dam about 'nothing ventured nothing gained'

You say you only do long term but 42% in 8 months is great. Yet the positions shown dont reflect those gains so I guess you traded

What is AMT ? I get : American Tower Corporation
(Public, NYSE:AMT)

Heres my virtual picks taken jan 2010

I did actually go ahead and trade all of them except JII where I screwed up :(

If I had to update now for a 2011 hold
I'd keep EMED I guess
Swap ERE for 3i India infrastructre investment trust
Swap GKP for RRL
Swap HYC for Plexus *
Swap JII for JPMorgan Fleming Japanese IT

*could/probably go nowhere, it aint cheap but shouldnt plunge

A rare bit of excitment in the holiday dross.
GKP is being sued in NYC for a 30% share in their holdings. So far they have batted off an attempt to freeze all company assets, on the grounds they arent about to run off with them
Down more then 20% to 130 on high volume but not massive. Regained their lead up but this seems to confirm the dec lows of 160 and I expect them to range between that and 141 in a still positive but slower trend

PMG price is up 300% in the last 5 trading days, nav is up 0% :o

Had to rub my eyes this morning, all shares up around 10%. Not a JORC in sight yet either, if this continues and the JORCs we're expecting are good...

I'm off for a sit down again, this is all too much.

Big write up in FT. They want to prove the oil to join the proper market, once they do that the big funds can start taking a real interest in them as a oil producer of volume

nonsense law suit on gkp
the part about freezing assets especially seems like a good way of blackmailing a company into giving in to a settlement

RRL turned up nicely today, in general its at a top of a positive range in line with highs of oct, sept and aug. Its recovered now 60% of its previous failed breakout. Todays low was support and this is a nice reaction to an initally negative day. Had I spotted it in time I'd sell a couple here

emed also positive despite all the new shares, the canadians like them or maybe its because they can be put in an isa now I think

Wow HER really picked up today, good news for me :)
Now should I get shot of RRL while i'm 45%+ up and jump on the HER wagon.... whats that golden rule never chase a rise :P given the last few months and spec i'm leaning towards HER, thoughts on a post card folks ?

Im looking at HER too.

No news yet though so could be a small retrace giving an opportunity to get in. Been burnt too many times chasing rises

Glad to see HER popping up. I believe I first mentioned it some months ago as a hidden gem :)

Bought at 0.56 and chucked in a ton more at 0.78 when Nyrstrarar stumped up some cash too. Waiting for this current run to die down before adding some more, but kicking myself for adding to XEL at 370 the other day rather than HER! Tho both will do well over the next few months anyhow.

Following the fundamentals, big money and good BOD (HER has a great website, great history of positive, well-written RNSs / press releases) is my favourite strategy. By comparison see FML for a company with good fundamentals and great prospects but poor RNSs and a stagnant share price.

Or see DES for an example of how not to run a company..

Waiting for BMR to manage to sign something now, and the JORC on CNR and OTC should be transformational (OTC not risen much yet except today, and CNR is well this thread is the reason I bought (only at 7.9p tho) so you all know how good that one is :D)

I'm having a proper bum time of missed ops. First CNR and now I sold my quite long held MTA shares just before they doubled up.. now they have almost trebled!

God damn I hate hindsight!
