Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

I'm holding EDL and OTC - £250 EDL and £500 OTC, re-bought OTC on the drop yesterday and it fell more today but I've a suspicion it'll recover ;)

Guys, sorry to interrupt your thread but is there a complete beginners guide to trading the stockmarket anywhere? I also read this thread and would love to get involved at some point.

I am planning on doing the same, not to make money to live on, merely to potentially get better interest rates than my money in an ISA. I am definately going to play around with a Practise account on Share.com for a few months before I consider putting in any real money, and even then, it will be a cautious £500 max in a single company to start with.

I am like you though and I have really very little knowledge in the markets, but what I do know is that if you bought shares in AMEC 2 years ago, you will have made a tidy profit now!

That's more like it, news today said recovery in line with expectations and return to dividends. :D:D

CKSN up 7.59% :D That's good going for a FTSE250 company.

Not bad but I think at least a couple of them could rise 10% or more. Kaz does that sometimes and its ft100, waiting for news on CEY though its subject to Egypt trouble now

it will be a cautious £500 max in a single company to start with.

You can be more cautious then that even. I often have to buy more then once and use a regular investor to do it as its cheaper, it allows for half that sum even

So glad I've tucked away a few bob in NPE. Shares price is up today and looking to forecasts of 500p and maybe more. Won't be selling for a while.

Yup, things are looking good :).

Looking forward to the Kraken resovoir revision and the Catcher drill results.

I'm in at 383p (sold and rebought, sliced off £500 profit).

Still holding my CNR although i did top slice about 80% of my holdings at 180% profit. Also still holding RXP despite being down 30% looking for huge upside over the year.

Still holding CNR, last RNS wasn't that bad, infact is was pretty positive, but this drop is more drastic than expected

Some boards cant believe it has fallen as low and many are topping up at this price
